Experimenting with pineapple and passion fruit

Hello, friends. Today I want to share with you my experience innovating in the kitchen. I was encouraged to try something new after hearing that combining two fruits in a juice could result, in most cases, in an incredible flavor. So I decided to take a chance and see what would come out.

This time one of the fruits would be passion fruit, since I still have fruit on my bush. The other fruit would be pineapple, which I was able to buy some of them at the market. Now all that was left for me to do was to taste what would come out of this union.

Ingredients:

• 2 passion fruit
• 140 grams of pineapple
• 1 liter of water
• 3/4 cup granulated sugar (approximately 150 grams)

First, I set out to wash the pineapple. In addition to cleaning it, I wanted to take advantage of the peel, since I would use it to make pineapple juice at another time. So, after peeling it, I saved the peel for future creations, which I hope to share with you.

Since I didn't need all the pineapple, I cut off the amount I was going to use. I chopped it into smaller pieces to facilitate the blending process. Adding it to the blender, along with a liter of water.

This time I only used two passion fruit. I chopped them and added their pulp to the blender along with the sugar. With all the ingredients I would use, I proceeded to blend. The pineapple needs a little more time than the passion fruit to be crushed, so the estimated blending time was 18 seconds. Afterwards, I strained the mixture to eliminate the residues, obtaining about 1,250 grams of juice.

To enjoy it to the fullest, I added four ice cubes to the glass, a little soda and a small piece of the leftover pineapple to make it more colorful. My innovative passion fruit and pineapple juice was ready for me to try.

And truth be told, I fell in love with this new flavor. The combination of passion fruit and pineapple resulted in something unique and exquisite. Personally, I prefer this duo to each fruit separately. I am excited to continue experimenting with other blends and hopefully they will result in something positive like this time.
