A Vanished Dream

There was a young boy living in the countryside. He was always fascinated by the stories of ancient civilizations and was always looking for artifacts and relics. One day, while exploring the woodlands near his home, he stumbled upon an odd-looking chest buried in the ground. He was immediately intrigued, feeling like he was inside one of the treasure hunting movies that he loved to watch, and began to dig around it. After a few hours of digging, he managed to unearth the chest and open it.

To his surprise, the chest was full of ancient coins in a unknown language. What those weird, exotic coins were doing here, in the woods beside his house? Who brought those here and forgot about them?

Nonetheless, he was amazed by their beauty. He knew that he had stumbled upon a treasure trove, so he quickly grabbed the heavy chest and ran home, eager to show his find to his family. He had heard lots of stories of people that found ancient coins sold them for huge sums of money, and he was certain he could make a fortune from his discovery! He could even help his parents pay the farm's mortgage: he overheard them talking about having to sell the farm due the accumulating debt, but he didn't wanted to move to the city...

However, before he reached home, he stumbled upon a weird-looking old man that mugged him and stole his chest. He was devastated and heartbroken, but what could he has done against a big, scary man with a pocket knife? He had lost his chance to make a fortune, and his dream of helping his parents had vanished.

The boy returned home to his family empty-handed, and never told his parents what happened.

He was disappointed and angry with himself for not being more careful.

He had let his excitement and ambition get the better of him.

He never did find out what happened to the coins, but he learned a valuable lesson that day: no matter how exciting something may seem, it is always important to stay safe and cautious.
