Dragon Combo: Brighton Bloom & Djinn Chwala - Share your Battle Weekly Challenge

The Dragon Splinter has lots of tricks to win matches! Take a look at this combo with Brighton Bloom and Djinn Chwala!

Brighton was an eccentric young man of Shimmer City, the capital of Khymeria. He was always seen as a strange character among the Khymian summoners: his peers were put off by the way birds always landed on his hands and shoulders. After just two years studying at the Shimmer summoning school, Brighton decided to leave Khymeria. His loyalty was available to the highest bidder, and that is where the Dragons came in.
The Gloridax cared not for Brighton’s strange idiosyncrasies; what mattered to them was his skills as a summoner. Furthermore, in Gloridax eyes oneness with birds has long been considered a sign of divinity.

Djinn Chwala

LORE

Only a short time after the Djinn were released, most of them were already seeing their elemental captivity as a blessing rather than a curse. They had far greater power than before, now that they were working with the force of the Planet at their backs. Pursuit of power was at the core of Belludae beliefs, so most of them would make small sacrifices for greater power.
The Djinn have not all found one another, and it will be difficult for them to do so since many of them reside in different elements. This is why several of the Djinn have submitted themselves as cards in the Moxian games, so they can connect with their lost brethren. Gradually they will come together to Praetoria as part of the last lines of defense, channeling the power of the Planet into an impenetrable wall to hold back the Chaos Legion.

The Strategy

I love both Brighton Bloom and Djinn Chwala, so it's even difficult to me to organize the ideas and write them down on a single post!

Brighton Bloom is a budget Dragon Summoner that can be bought (at the time of writing) for ~13-14 USD, and he gives all your monsters the Flying ability. This ability is very situational, but it's incredibly strong in matches with the Earthquake ruleset.

On Earthquake matches, monsters without flight ability will be hit with 2 melee damage every round. You can probably imagine why Brighton Bloom is great for those matches: by giving Flying to all your monsters, your whole team will be "immune" to the Earthquake damage.

Have in mind that Brighton is not invincible and CAN be beaten by other Summoners in Earthquake matches. But, while this is true, the Summoners/Monsters combos that are able to beat him aren't common in Bronze or Silver Leagues; so, if you're in those ranks, playing Brighton Bloom is a very safe strategy and will surely give you high win rates!

Djinn Chwala is also fabulously good to be played on the lower leagues of Bronze and Silver. Not only she has VERY high stats even at Level 1 (2 Melee, 2 Speed, 5 Armor and 9 Health), he also has the Thorns ability: when she's hit by a Melee attack, she will do 2 damage back to the attacker.

I like to say that Thorns is the Lower League Killer.

Due the lack of expensive or high-leveled cards, the majority of the decks in the Bronze or Silver ranks are mainly compromised of Melee cards. On every match there's, at least, 1 Melee card being played (the frontline Tank), but there's usually 2 (Reach monster on the 2nd place) or even 3+ (Monsters with Sneak/Opportunity abilities).

Due Thorns, Djinn Chwala is able to deal an extra 2 damage per turn on each Melee monster that attacks her. She will be receiving 1-3 Melee attacks each turn, meaning that she'll deal A LOT of extra damage, for free.

The biggest proof that Thorns is overpowered to the lower leagues is that the most common strategy to climb ranks is using Mylor Crowling, the Summoner that gives all your monsters the Thorns ability. It's so easy to reach Silver with Mylor that's almost unfair.

By playing Djinn Chwala in an Earthquake match with Brighton Bloom as your summoner, it'll be almost impossible for your enemy to beat you: you're almost guaranteed to win.

The Battle

Brighton Bloom VS Brighton Bloom

As you can see, playing Brighton Bloom in Earthquake matches is already a common strategy that's being used by many players! In this match, both me and my opponent played him in order to protect the monsters from the 2 damage/turn.

Also, both of us chosed the Fire Splinter as complimentary to the Dragon Splinter. So this match will be decided purely on the monsters each player used.

I, personally, do enjoy "mirror matches" in which both players uses the same Summoner and similar cards, because the game will be won purely on the strategy used by each player. And this match was very mirroed, as half the monsters played were the same for both sides: Goblin Shaman, Serpentine Spy and Kobold Miner.

It's also interesting to see that not only the monsters were similar, but the composition of the team was also very much the same: behind the tank both of us played the Goblin Shaman (his 4 Health makes him a good secondary tank), and we both played 2 Ranged units, one of them having the Blast ability (I used the Pyromancer, he played the Fire Elemental).

The main differente between our teams was our frontline tank: I played Djinn Chwala, and my opponent played Living Lava. While the Living Lava is a very strong tank, he isn't good against Djinn because he's going to receive extra damage every turn due Djinn's Thorns.

The battle was a Success!

Not only I was able to win the match, but my WHOLE team stayed alive. This is very interesting to think about, considering that we used the same Summoner and half our team was also the same. At least in theory, the battle should have been more balanced, but it wasn't.

While the tanks clashed with each other, my Serpentine Spy got the first strike and killed his Serpentine Spy. This turned the match into my favour, and things started to snowball.

When the enemy tank was killed, the rest of the team quickly crumbled as he didn't had any other able to kill Djinn Chwala and sustain the incoming damage.

Conclusion

Brighton Bloom is a great card to have, as it'll make winning Earthquake matches easier. He's also useful in other specific scenarios and matches, but just by sticking to the basic strategy of being played on Earthquake is already enough to be worth the purchase.

Djinn Chwala is one of the strongest tanks you'll have available at Level 1, and she can easily turn a loss into a victory solely because her Thorns ability.

I also like playing Brighton + Chwala on low mana matches, in which the enemy player won't be able to play many Ranged/Magic monsters due the lack of mana. In those matches, people usually like to play as the Fire Splinter and use lots of cheap cards (like the Kobold Miner and the Serpentine Spy); if you're with Djinn Chwala, all those monsters will be killed on the first round due the Thorns damage, and you'll have an easy time winning those matches too.
