Quite dramatic, clickbaity title, isn't it? I knew you would love it 😅
This post will be fairly short, as it's more of a rant than anything else. The truth is that NFTs became a huge joke across the general population, and the public opinion is that NFTs are just a gimmick from "cryptobros" that wanted to make a quick buck back in 2020-2021, or a tool used by scammers.
Take a look at these memes that went viral on 9Gag / Reddit recently. This is the public opinion: NFTs are worthless; people who bought NFTs were stupid; and people who still defend NFTs are even stupider (or a smartass trying to earn some money).
Is this reversible? I doubt it. Once people think that something is bad and associated with scams, it's almost impossible to change it.
Unfortunately, I don't see NFTs making a comeback, even on the gaming industry where it's actually useful. All AAA-gaming companies froze their NFTs projects to avoid the bad press, and the "new projects" that are being released are all scummy and weird; cash-grabs, if you want. So we're stuck with old projects that were able to keep going despite all the shit that hit the fan, like Splinterlands and Gods Unchained; but they lack the power to "save the face" of NFTs, as the number of active players is just negligible when compared to the total number of internet users.

BEERKING.Back then, it was as if anyone not into NFT was not living. Friend buying NFT and trying to oppress others that are not. Whatever, looks too good o be true is NOT TRUE.
The NFT crazeness killed the whole NFT market, as now the good projects are all bundled together with the scams from 2020-2021
Unfortunately, NFT wasn't able to survive for a longer period of time though there are certain person that still make trades or enjoy from it's benefits, but I can't figure any of these people.
I literally don't keep any of these NFT's. Maybe it's because I don't believe much in the project.
I doubt that there's actually someone making money on NFTs nowadays. At most, there's people selling old assets that are not worth 1% of what was worth 2 years ago, and God know's why someone's buying those even for 1% of the old price...

Well, while the public opinion now is negetive, I don't think it's dead completely and it won't be the last we hear of it.
There are small voices still defending them, and some are perhaps wishing that their assets will go back up. The real haters though fueling all of this are people who got burnt by trusting the hype and following celebrities.
I do think when everything recovers everything will change, and the naysayers will be drowned out by the mass of people getting back in. The same thing kind of happens every few years.
Also, those two games may not be enough currently, but as more are introduced and give NFTs real use cases the public opinion will change. Let's face it, most people are sheep anyway and usually follow the opinion of the biggest voice, right now the biggest voices seem to be haters.
