The BEST Combo Against Water Decks on Bronze and Silver!

avatar

Are you tired of losing matches to Water Decks, with their high Magic damage and Venari Wavesmith giving Armor to everyone? Learn how to easily beat Water Decks with an easy 2-cards combo!

thumbnail.png

The Water Splinter has always been very strong, due its Magic Monsters that can hit directly the Health, bypassing the Armor.

But, with the release of the Venari Wavesmith, the Water Deck became INCREDIBLY popular in the lower leagues of Bronze and Silver!

The Venari costs only 5 Mana and has the powerful Protect ability, giving all friendly Monsters +2 Armor. This makes almost impossible to kill the monsters, guaranteeing the win to the Water Splinter!

Not only that, but the card is reasonably cheap to buy and relatively common to be dropped on Reward Chests. This makes the Water Deck the ideal deck to win matches: it's cheap, and it's strong.

So, how can you beat the Water Splinter?

2 Cards-Combo: Torhilo the Frozen + Bortus

The first card you'll need is Torhilo the Frozen. This crystal bull is a great tank with the Void ability, halving any incoming magic damage.

The important part of Void is that magic attacks that would deal only 1 damage will NOT give any damage at all.

Torhilo can be bought, currently, for a reasonable price of 34 USD. If you buy it on www.MonsterMarket.io, you'll receive a 3% cashback (so around 1 USD back).

The second card you'll use is Bortus, the Water Summoner that gives all enemy Monsters -1 Magic Attack.

Bortus is one of the Starter Cards, so you won't need to spend any extra dime to run this strategy!

That's it: the strategy works with only those two cards!

How the Combo Works

Water players usually play the Venari Wavesmith together with other several cheap Magic Monsters like the Ice Pixie, Medusa, Enchanted Pixie and Elven Mystic.

All those monsters have one thing in common: they only have 1 Magic Attack.

If the enemy player uses Alric Stormbringer as the Summoner, all those monsters will now have 2 Magic Attack.

But you're playing Bortus! Bortus will guarantee that all enemy Monsters have only 1 Magic Attack, even if Alric Stormbringer is being played by your opponent.

Now, you'll play Torhilo the Frozen as your frontline tank.

GG EASY: Torhilo is literally immune to Monsters with 1 Magic Attack. The enemy monsters won't be able to damage Torhilo, and you'll win the game as your tank will be immortal.

I've found out this combo by sheer luck to be honest; when I started playing, Torhilo was very cheap and was one of the "recommended cards" to be bought in order to have an easier time climbing to Silver. Now that everyone and their mothers are playing Water, it became an incredibly strong card to win easily those games. In the majority of them, Torhilo just receive some damage from the enemy tank (usually Frozen Soldier or Spineback Turtle), but that's definitely not enough to even damage his health :D

The water deck is definitely difficult to beat in lower leagues especially if they play full magic attack. I like the combo that you present here as an answer :-)

Indeed; that's why they're incredibly popular these days: they're very easy to have (you just need a Venari Wavesmith), they're very straight-forward to play, and have a very high win rate.

I'm glad that I was able to help!

That's true! As far as I know, the cheapest monster with Magic Reflect, for a Water Deck, is the Rusty Android. It would combo very well with Bortus too.
