Dear Hivers.. wow.. it's a Monday again. Time flies. We are almost a week in November 2022. In another couple of weeks, we are heading into 2023. A Christmas parade that had me stuck in the jam for a couple of hours for a normally less than 20 minutes drive. Plus, it was raining too. Heavily. But the parade still went on.

This is what the jam looked like.

Normally, this road would be clear and there wouldn't be that many cars here. Sections of the road closed and were blocked by the police at around 5 pm.

On Wave, it turned red hot.

Red parts indicate that those were where the traffic jam was the heaviest. Everyone only travelled at around 3km / hr.

It was raining but everyone was super excited and prepared for the parade. It was raining but everyone still wanted to join the parade. A total of 40,000 people participated in this parade.

This was what it looked like in my car. The only thing to do was wait.

Luckily, no accidents occurred at this point of time.

Although every was jammed, no one complained.

It was strange. No one complained on Facebook. Maybe, everyone was respectful of the Christmas parade and was patiently waiting for it to proceed. It's not an everyday thing, it is a one year once.

After a long time, I only moved a couple of metres from my original position.

A traffic jam like this seldom occurs in Miri as the population here isn't too high.

Everyone was at the city fan, a park nearby preparing for the Christmas parade.

The most important thing at hand at this point of time was my handphone. Luckily, I charged it before I went out. So I still had enough battery to last the whole jam.

The military police

Military police was here to help too if there was a need. Luckily, everything went smoothly. Only at around 8:40 Pm, everything was over and finally, the traffic flowed. Wow. Two hours. I was out at around 6:30 Pm and only managed to reach town at around 8:40.

The parade went on smoothly. I recorded portions of it. Will be writing a new post somewhile in the future.

The police was here to help too

After the parade, the police helped in making sure that everything went on smoothly. So life can go on as usual again. Wow.. a night, I would never forget for a while.
