A Japanese inspired Fish and Chips restaurant
Hi hi.. everyone. it's a beautiful Tuesday. Did you have Monday blues? There is a place here in Miri that serves food that is inspired by Japan. Western food but made in the Japanese way.
Japanese-styled chicken chop
It comes with rice and miso soup. Something that is not usually served at a restaurant that specializes in Western food.
Even the spoon and fork look different compared to many Malaysian restaurants.
FUKURO
It's a home-based restaurant. This is what it looks like inside.
The main area of the restaurant. Extension of the car park.
The owners made a section of their home into a restaurant. As you walk into the dining area, you can hear the Japanese-themed music playing in the background.
Such a cute wall decor. Three little cats greeting customers. Makes it a bit more comfortable to eat in here.
The tables are made of wood with plastic chairs. Orange cushion.
Fish and Chips
Tartar sauce, fries, and two fish fillets. deep fried.
Slightly undercooked. More grilling time is needed from my view.
This was what I ordered, a plate of chicken chop. It even came with miso soup.
Usually, the chicken chop.
The chicken chop here tastes different from the other chicken chop that I've ever eaten before. It has a stronger spice texture. You can feel the spice in your mouth.
There are some veggies too here to eat together with the rice. No french fries. Usually, I prefer having french fries with chicken chop.
Thank you very much for spending your time reading this post.
That is quite a twist koko, a fusion one might say. !LOLZ
Always nice to try a new place isn't it?

hi hi.. my friend.. thank you very much.. =) hehehe.. which looks nice? to eat
I think all of it Ma'am 😁.
The history of Tempura is rather interesting.
In the 16th century, Portugese missionaries developed the tecnique of frying battered fish in hot oil as the Catholic church encourages adherents to eat fish on Friday. This is why the dish has a Latin name.
In the following centuries, Japanese cooks improved on the technique and created a variety of deep fried foods using the name Tempura.
So, yes, tempura is a fusion cuisine.
The fusion took place 400 years ago. Most people consider Tempura to be a unique Japanese tradition of cooking.
Here is the wikipedia article on Tempura: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempura
