A tour of Kundasang, Sabah

Kundasang, Sabah

Sabah is on the island of Borneo. In case, you wondering where this is? Here there are many nature-related activities you can do. The highest mountain in Malaysia is here too. Near where I stayed.

Mile 36 Lodge. I stayed here for two nights. 1900 metres above sea level and it was also raining when I got here. However, I got here a little bit too early. Do you want to stay here? Yes and No.

The lodge

The reception. This is where the registration takes place. Quite cosy. Outside, at this point, it was raining. I was there before I was able to check in so I couldn't get to rest in a room yet. More about this hotel in a later post.

Raining heavily.

I drove the Toyota Vios which belongs to my sister-in-law up here. Brunei plated. So this was my transport for the next couple of days while I was staying here. The last time I drove up here was in a rented car. This time, I drove from Brunei. After registration at the hotel, I was hungry. We then drove to Kundasang town.

The floor was still wet from the rain. We were hungry. We then went to KFC. There are several towns here as well as lots of petrol stations. No worries about fuel. There is also cell phone reception as well.

KUNDASANG TOWN

It's amazing how this town was built. So high up. There are many farms here.

Those coloured buildings are markets.

Here, you can buy lots of different types of fruits. So many different types.

A visit to KFC

After a long drive up here, I was hungry.

After eating our meal, it was time to head to the outside to do some exploration. The green capsicum has not been maintained since the last time I was here.

There is a huge lettuce here too

A lot of the veggies that come are imported into Sarawak from this region. There are lots of farms here too.

The best view. I brought my drone and flew up there. It was surreal. Will share that in a future post so do check out my future post. The unfortunate thing about having heavy rain is that the fog covered up the view of Mount Kota Kinabalu.

A little bit of Switzerland here. In Malaysia.

The cool weather. Just feels amazing to stand here. I was going to spend the next two days here. How many days should you stay if you come to Kundasang? You can probably stay here for a week. There are so many places that you can visit here.

KUNDASANG

The natural mountain ranges. However, one thing that astonishes me is the amount of houses built here on the slopes. How do they do that? How did they manage to carry all those materials up there? Amazingly, whole towns have been built.

This was the first day of my Kundasang stay. The next place that I visited was the war memorial. This was the second time. The last time I came here, I visited the war museum too. Read my next post to find out more.

Have a great day. Thank you for spending your time to read this post.

Wow! Indeed kundasang is a great place and a must to visit. Your blog ignited my will to visit Malaysia then. Hopefully, by God's grace, it will be realized. I miss traveling abroad. Well, I am looking forward to your next post then. Thanks for sharing this one. God bless.
