Avery in wonderland - Rabbits, tortoises, guppies

Nothing is more fun that seeing rabbits. Janice, my wife and I wanted to bring Avery, our niece to see some rabbits. At a Petronas station in the city, they have utilized a portion of that station to raising rabbits and keeping animals.

No tickets needed. Just walk to the back of the Petronas station. Rabbits happily mingling around. They are really cute. Hopping around and digging burrows.

Behind this petrol station is where they have kept all these rabbits, tortoises and fishes.

This is what a petrol station looks like here in Sarawak.

Mesra, is a convenient store usually operates together with a Petronas station. You can buy drinks, snacks and other stuff at these stores.

Avery is pretty excited with her mask on.

The best things to do as an activity for any child from my view are outdoor activities that let them see what things are outside of the house. My wife and I usually bring her to different places. She is currently going to 3, and she understands a lot of things and can easily pick up new words. Usually, I talk to her in English to let her learn English faster.

Tortoises

gopr0912.jpg

Plastic containers with water filled up almost to the brim. That is the Malayan box tortoise and that is definitely not the perfect enclosure set up.
There are also two red ear slider tortoises swimming inside.

The Malayan box shell tortoise has the ability to fully retract their heads and are semi land tortoises.

The little garden

Some nice plants.

Goldfish pond

Gold and Black Goldfish found in the man made pond. The water is really clean, perhaps due to their really good filtration system.

The view of the rabbit enclosure from the other side

This is the view from the other side of the enclosure looking outwards. Opposite of the station, are rows of shophouses that have been here for a very very long time. This area is very near the local Petronas and Shell headquarters.

The station owner has been really kind to use this part of their station to create space for a mini zoo that is free of charge. It's good to bring kids to places like these to let them understand the importances of the need for conservation of the forest and to preserve the habitats of animals that live there.

Hope that you enjoy this mini trip to the free zoo behind a Petronas station in the city. This part of the city is very near to the Brunei borders which currently still is closed. It takes about less than an hour to reach the Brunei borders from here.

That's something new to me bro. Never seen it before too. If in other part of it, I guess the animal would be gone missing. You know what I mean 😏

What a strange but cool place to have such a hidden wonder. I bet many people in a hurry to get gas and hit the road don't even notice this attraction.
