It is always an achievement to have pumped a billion barrels in any country. Since the discovery of oil in Brunei, it has brought much wealth to the Sultanate ( Brunei = Sultanate). It is a Sunday again. Time has passed. I have been consistent in posting every single day for the past couple of months. I wasn't always that disciplined to do that in the past.

I had my drone up in the sky once again but this time it was the view of the Billionth Barrel Monument here in Seria, Brunei.

A lot of people come here to exercise daily as there is a long stretch of track to run on. Seria Brunei is where lots of expats settle in as they work in Brunei. There are also army bases nearby here. The Sultanate hires a lot of Gurkhas.

Billionth Dollar monument

Completed in 1991 in the shape of a ring with Brunei's emblem on the top representing peace. There is a row of artwork on the pillars representing the success of Brunei.

This is an unknown tourist spot. If you do visit Brunei, this is one of the most important places to drop by. Next to this monument is also the beach. Clear sands with no litter. A great place to have a walk and bring your family. While I was here, there was a young couple who had just gotten together. The guy asked me to help him to take a photo with his girlfriend.

It always looks different from high up. I have a DJI MINI SE so it's easy to set up. Fly and return back to base.

So there wasn't many people yet. Usually, there are more people who come here around evening to exercise.

A couple of hundred metres away

I have capped my drones' flight distance to 500 metres. This is to ensure that I don't fly it too far in case the battery drains out or wind speeds increase which drains the battery. This drone can fly to a distance of 4KM. I wouldn't push it that far. Usually, the max height is 120 metres as any height above that is a violation of airspace. It is always fun to fly out at sea. If you just bought a drone, I do not recommend flying it out to the ocean. Get a wide field and fly around.

The beautiful artwork

I absolutely appreciate looking at artworks. It's all hand painted and each art is different. To view the different artwork is going to be in another post. I have yet to view it myself on the GoPro.
