Dumplings, Mochi, Two layer delights.

Good morning, hope your doing well and had had your breakfast. It is currently 2 weeks into 2022. My wife and I went and eat breakfast at a local cafe here. We were craving for some local delights.

Different treats to choose as breakfast

Lots of different colours to consume to start off a great day.

My wife and I were tempted by the colours like a mosquito to blue lights. We ordered some

Fried Dough, vegetarian dumplings, mochis.. Mochis with red bean fillings and Mochis with peanut bits.

The stall that fries those delicious doughs

Fried doughs are quite popular in Sarawak and are usually dipped into beverages. They are the Malaysian donuts. In the picture, on the bottom right, those are traditional Malaysian food.

Delicious fried doughs. They usually sell out very fast and a new batch is constantly made. Handmade. Everything here is homemade and made by hand. The sellers usually spend the entire morning by waking up around 3 AM just to make these delights.

CHAR KUEH TIAW / FRIED FLAT NOODLES

We ordered Char Kueh Tiaw - Popular morning breakfast. Flat rice noodles, fried with egg and a darkened wok. On top is a thick mix of sauce that adds on to the taste of the fried noodles. Usually, these noodles are fried with strong heat. Sometimes these noodles are added with prawns and cockles. Normally, in Malaysia, the wok that fries the food has to be really dark. Like burnt. in order for the food to taste good. There is the burnt taste in the fried noodles.
