Dosai - in Sarawak

Hi hi.. I am @luueetang. I have been eating at Indian restaurants a lot recently. Dosai is a type of Indian food that always allures me. There are not many Indian restaurants here that have dosai. Egg Cheese roti.

It's great that Sarawak has a lot of Indian and Pakistani restaurants. Naans, Rotis, alor Pratas. woo.. delicious.

Dosai - fermented rice flour

I love that it is crunchy and also that slightly sour taste. Then dip it in the special Indian sauce and you've got a really delicious meal. Good Dosai looks crispy and brown. I've tasted Dosai that is slightly soft and less crunchy. I like the crunchy versions.

Busy afternoon

5PM. Wow. Full of customers. All hungry and ready to bite their plates? Maybe that was I was thinking. Biting plate. Plate biting?

The Menu

Many versions of the same thing. Al-Asna Sdn Bhd.

Taking a good look at who is making my food.

He's got a nice beard. It's quite interesting to look at how Rotis are made. The flipping and the sound of the sizzling pans.

Got myself a Tea milk

Lots of bubbles on top. Someone has got such a great bubble blowing skills. Just joking. These are made from the pouring of milk tea to and fro two cups.

Roti Cheese Egg

Super crispy brown and delicious looking. Perfect brown. You can tell if the Roti taste good just by looking at the texture of the Roti. My wife ordered that.

Roti luckily is an international word for Roti. Or is there another name for it in English?

Then the delicious plate of Dosai came.

It was round in shape but folded to fit this stainless steel plate. I hope that you enjoy reading this post about delicious Indian food. I love eating Indian food.

Hi my brother @luueetang, I really enjoy reading your posts, about travel, daily life and also about culinary tourism. all fun to read. Yeah, like your post this time about "Dosai". Is this Dosai the same ingredients and cooking method as Roti Canai? And also how to eat it with curry sauce?

Btw, I really like eating Roti Canai with curry sauce and also accompanied by a cup of Teh Tarik Panas 🤤

Hi hi.. my brother.. thank you very much.. for reading my post as always.. really appreciate it.. =) Dosai is slightly different from Roti Canai but is from the same Indian restaurant. Dosai is made of rice but Roti telur is made of tepung.. =) Dosai di buat menggunakan beras yang di tapai. Not easy to find. Sorry to hear about Indonesia football... sad to see..

I am nowhere near a dosai at the moment, but I could eat dosa or idly ever day for breakfast and never get tired of it. I can make them at home, I even have the pan, but I will have to wait until I can get a proper stove that displaces the heat evenly.

Your posts always remind me that Malaysia is surely ground zero for foodies in SE Asia. I've eaten Indian food in India, and I must admit that even many of the Indian dishes in Malaysia are tastier than the same dishes in India.

Wow.. Justin.. that sounds like me.. I would eat Dosa every single day ... Wow.. I do wonder how do real Indian food from India taste like. One thing I always notice when I see Indian food being made in India is the lack of concern for hygiene.. If that happens here, the place is going to shut down. The locals here are good at replicating food of other cultures. The local muslims are good at making Chinese food, Locals making Indian food. Hahaha.. The capital of food creation. Wow.. Do you know how to make a dhall.. gravy?
