Guinea Pig and Nasi Lemak

I wanted to write yesterday, but I was feeling super duper exhausted.

Add in more coins of your favourite liking if you do not need the cash or have extra cash at the moment. I still remember a time when Bitcoin dipped from around 8.5 K to 3 K and caused lots of panic. Then from 3K, it rose back up to its at that time all time high of 20K. The rest is history.

I've been preparing an enclosure for my Guinea Pig pets.

So I went around Miri to see if there were any affordable Guinea Pigs that suited my taste.

I have never known anything about them until now. I have slowly gotten to understand them.

There is a local breeder here who loves animals. In her free time, she grooms cats and has won lots of awards for grooming them.

One of the reasons for getting guinea pigs is that these animals are quite tame. They have this really impulsive behavior.

After that, we went to visit the Emart supermarket. This is one of Sarawak's own brands of supermarkets.

This Emart supermarket just opened.

The highlight was the trip to a Nasi Lemak stall here near a park that I always jog. It is an open-air food court.

It is quite popular.

Nasi Lemak is the national dish of Malaysia and definitely one of my favourite dishes out there.

On the menu -

Rice with beef. RM 15 or around USD 3.60.

This is the view here in Sarawak at around 6 pm, and it gets dark early. Here, people go out early and head back home early. By 7, street lights usually light up to illuminate the streets.

The apartment buildings are also used as rental places for short-term stays as well as monthly rentals.

This is where you order. The cashier. A simple yet effective setup.

You can choose between the different gravies. Some spicy, some not. I usually go for the non-spicy gravy. That gravy is known as Sambal.

The Rendang chicken

This is fried in a way that it has these crispy little areas that are flavourful, which adds a strong burst of flavours as you bite into it.

This is mixed with rice, giving that a slightly sweet and umami taste to the dish.

My wife ordered this. There is fried squid, marinated beef in a special sauce, cucumber, and peanuts. Yummy.

Even without the meat and all that stuff, just mixing the gravy with the rice is flavourful enough to eat.

I ordered a simple Nasi Lemak dish with fried chicken, the special sauce, and peanuts. This is the original version of what the Nasi Lemak is like here in Malaysia.

You can also go and wash your hands, and the nearby sink, and eat with your hands. That is one of the traditional ways of eating the Nasi Lemak here.
