Have you heard of the KOLO MEE?
Morning... morning.. if you do visit Sarawak someday, do try out the KOLO MEE. This is one of the staple breakfasts for most Sarawakians in the morning. It's a bowl of strong flavors and noodles.
The Sarawkian noodles

This is a plate of kolo mee. You just get to most restaurants here and just ask for a bowl of mee kolok. This is it. Lots of fried onions. Small onions. Meat and the strong taste of umami. The umami factor is what makes this dish one very popular dish here in Sarawak.
Where did I have this plate of Kolo mee?
A while ago, I visited Bintulu, Sarawak. My wife found this popular food court.

Varnice Cafe
The stalls

This stall sells fish ball noodles.
Some other customers busy

The foodcourts like these here in Sarawak are known as Kopitiam. The place where many come to just spend the day away. chatting.
Coffee

A good cup of coffee to start off the day is always something to have. Just to start off the day with a good vibe. The slight bitterness blends with the milk. I usually have sugarless coffee.
My wife ordered this
The Ding Bian Hu

Noodles made from rice flour with meat balls. Soup. The soup has to be pretty hot. Something to have on to warm the belly.

Finally, the kolo mee.

The kolo mee btw, is also very addictive. Some people I know have kolo mee every single day.

This is what a typical breakfast looks like here in Sarawak. Hope that you enjoyed reading this post. Do try it out if you do have a chance to visit Sarawak someday. Have a great Tuesday. We are already half way into September. Wow. Time flies.
