Good Morning from my hamsters and me.

It's another wonderful Sunday. I still have work today. Yesterday, I showed you what my aquarium looks like at the moment. Today, I am going to share my hamsters' enclosure. I have four hamsters at the moment. The following two were given to me by my friend whose hamsters had babies a while ago and decided to give some away.

I have a lot of substrate that I placed in the box with it. This box is not covered, but it is slippery, so they are not able to climb out, but at the same time have enough ventilation. I used to put hamsters in a cage, but one of the problems that I face is that sometimes parts of their bodies get stuck in the gaps of the cage, and it can cause some injury. So, this is the safer method. It is easier to clean too. The substrates keep them dry.

Dwarf hamsters

These are quite friendly and do not usually bite. I usually feed them every two or three days since they don't eat that much. There is also a water bottle nearby for them to have enough hydration throughout the day. They are quite easy to take care. The main thing that is crucial to making it easy is to keep enough substrate that can be replaced every couple of weeks.

This is my other enclosure. These hamsters have been here since they were babies. Their mom recently passed away. Maybe due to old age. Hamsters usually have a short lifespan, at around 2 years normally.

One of the things I usually am careful about is whether the hamsters actually bite each other or not. Sometimes, they do, so I do not put them together if they do. They recognise me in some ways. Whenever I come near them, they usually climb up on the house and want to greet me. Even at times when they accidentally escape, I usually just put food near the floor and wait a bit and the hamsters suddenly turn up to eat.
