After Squid Game and Hellbound, the next Korean thriller set to air on Netflix is Silent Sea. 22 more days.

What is Silent Sea about?

Set at an abandoned Balhae Base research station, on the moon, a team of astronauts are set to retrieve a mysterious sample. The question is why? What happened to the prior crew?

There is limited resources on what the plot is about but I am pretty sure, it would be pretty mysterious. Space is a scary place, no one can hear you scream.

In the trailer, there is a clue in the trailer.

In the poster, there are 11 crew members. Less than 10% of the 11 crew members means that by the end of the eighth episode, only 1 crew member remains. But who?

Those dreamy eyes. Most girls would want him to be the last crew member. He played Seok-woo in Train to Busan, but in the end he sacrificed himself.

Supporting actor meaning that, he would be one of those that would die before the whole story ends. Similar to Squid Games.

My guess of what the plot could be.

Since there are only eight episodes, the series would get straight to the point. From the visuals, it looks like the series cost a lot to make which makes this series even more exciting to watch.

Somewhere in the future, Earth has gone dry, a special team has to go to the Balhae Base research station, on the moon to retrieve a mysterious sample.

None of them know what to expect because they are only to do what they are told and not to question.

This can be seen from the trailer.

The sample that they retrieve could be related to Earth. When they arrive at the station, they find it abandoned, dark and bleak. One by one, the crew members die as the episode progresses and from the understanding of what happened to the prior crew, they won't have any backup. The scenes are pretty dark, so it is definitely going to be very scary.

Something mysterious is going on.

Doctor Song Ji-an as she is about to enter the next chamber. What lies behind this door is going to be the trigger the start of a whole host of events that gets the viewers adrenaline rushing. It is just like in Squid Game, where the Red Light and Green Light game set the success of the whole story.

That something is inhuman, an alien creature that can infect crew members. The base becomes a hunting ground. One by one, each member dies. Then by episode seven, only two crew members are left. Why? They have to devise a plan to escape. In the end, maybe Gong Yoo sacrifices himself for Doctor Song to escape. Writing this makes me excited to watch this series. Can't wait.

Netflix is pretty smart. Releasing this series on Christmas eve. It is going to be a hit, everyone's going to be at home watching Netflix.
