The markets of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Kota Kinabalu's markets are a must-visit for any tourist here. Even for locals. There is one market that is quite interesting here which is the Filipino market. Along the waterfront of Kota Kinabalu city, is a market that is known as the Filipino market. Sabah is closer to the Phillippines as compared to Sarawak.

Clam stations

These places used to be filled up with lots of tourists. But this time, I did not see that many tourists here. There were tourist but not as many as it was.

After walking for a while, we walked along this huge market on the right.

It was also raining quite a lot.

There are quite a lot of pedestrian-friendly walkways.

Walking for a while, we reached a fruit market.

The last time I came here, there were avocadoes. However, this time, there weren't any avocadoes. Sadly, there were a lot of mangoes. I am a mango fan too but I did not buy any.

It is always a pleasure to walk around these markets. Best of all, support local business owners.

So many fresh fruits and veggies to buy.

There are rambutans, mangosteen, and dragon fruits.

After visiting that market, we went to visit the Filipino market. My mom-in-law was excited to get some dried anchovies.

These textiles are rare and unique. They are all handmade. Handcrafted.

Raining quite a lot.

After this, we were heading back to the hotel for some rest. Dinner and a visit to one of the biggest malls in the city.
