It's early Christmas. I got myself a new camera. I sold my GoPro Hero Black 9 that I bought around September 2022 last year. Before that I had the Fimi Palm. The Fimi Palm was a cheaper camera as compared to GoPro and even the Insta X3. The video quality is good. There was one problem. The problem with the gimbal. I am a heavy user after a while or around four months of heavy usage, the gimbal went berserk.

I love recording videos. I have been uploading videos on YouTube for a good three years. Anyways, this is a post about the Insta X3 and you can consider if you want to get one.

The unboxing video

Initially, I had lots of background sound of the wrapping paper opening and so on. And background music that had a copyright claim. So I had to select another background music that was on the YouTube library that did not have a copyright claim. Why having a copyright claim stinks sometimes. It means that your video gets demonetized. It means all the ad revenue doesn't go to you.

So this is the box. Lots of plastic wrapping.

Everything was in perfect shape. It's really great that the seller took some effort to wrap everything properly. This ensures that nothing got damaged.

Do I love using this camera?

Absolutely. And with those sticky lens guards of course. The 360 lens bulge out so much that if you drop it with no sticky lens guard, one of the dual lens is gonna get hit hard, scratched and it is game over. For the GoPro, it's basically this indestructible brick. I never worried about the lens. But I had to ensure to frame everything correctly and had to keep looking at the screen to check if what I was recording was what I wanted.

I got this while I was a bit busy that day with tons of stuff. So I had to unbox it a while later.

So why is this a special action camera?

When I saw the release of the Insta X3, I thought I had to get my hands on this. It's a 360 camera and an action camera packed into one. It can take 360 videos as well as normal GoPro 4K videos. GoPro can shoot 5K. But, it's alrite. I've edited some of the footage and it looks superb. This camera has an image sensor size that is slightly bigger than my GoPro Hero 9 but smaller than the GoPro Hero 11 black.

How much does this cost in Malaysia?

MYR 2199 (shipping not included) or around USD 465. Why would I get a camera like this? I upload videos on YouTube and the quality of videos uploaded has helped me gain a lot of the subscribers on my channel. For a monetized channel, it means more income.

YouTube has been fun for me and is still fun. I just love uploading video. Currently, I've got 8161 subscribers. Approximately 17k views per month.
You may say wow, if you have never uploaded on YouTube or just starting out but I used to only have 100 to 200 views a month and I was happy. Had only 3 subscribers.

There is a plastic protection that I had to peel off while I checked out the camera. The best thing about this camera is that, I just need to carry it around, hit the record button. Not much worrying about what I record because everything that is in view basically has a digital copy. Now, I can make videos of myself more easily.

Will be uploading lots of Insta X3 videos soon on my channel. I still have lots of GoPro videos to edit and upload but will be doing that slowly.
