Hello to the Hive Community - My Self-Introduction

Hello everyone

I have been in the hive community for the last three months, quietly observing, lurking in the background, reading your amazing posts, up-voting, and re-blogging some of them. I have never gotten to draft my first blog, though, let alone post it, until today. How did I get into hive? Well, a good friend of mine paved my way into hive after inducting me into the whirlwind world of crypto coins. Although I knew that dealing with crypto was a big gamble, a risky territory not unlike the stock market, I also thought that since the markets were markedly down then, that it was a good time to buy in. So I plunged into crypto, and bought a little bit of bitcoin - just an infinitesimal amount - and other altcoins, including hive. The prospect of staking hive brought me here. Even as crypto continues its dive, with its future hanging in the balance, I will continue my journey here. Cause I have just begun!

I am a newbie, and I have yet to learn the nitty-gritty stuff, the nuts, and bolts of hive. And since I would love to write awesome blogs, I am not a creative writer. It takes me forever to find apt words to fit my stories. So, in my future blogs, you would expect a smattering of half-baked hits-and-misses, although I promise to load them up with some cool pictures, too, that might just delight your eyes.

EAGER TRAVEL-ER

About me - I love to travel whenever I have the time and the funds. I take short trips, weekend getaways, and even staycations. Whether I’m outdoors or indoors, I just enjoy being in the middle of the whole experience, thankful for being in the moment and enjoying life. I have no bucket list so to speak. I just let the wind take me wherever. I do wish to visit as many foreign countries as I can and walk along cosmopolitan cities, scenic landscapes, and architectural marvels.

When I travel, I am usually in the company of family or friends or both. There’s more laughter and excitement in being with a group. I even travel with strangers. I join escorted tours, bus tours, walking tours, and boat tours or ocean cruises.

In future posts, I would be sharing with you some of the amazing places I have visited both locally and abroad, which some of you wanderlusts might even have visited yourself. In that case, let’s reminisce, and explore the world together!

On my very first trip across the Atlantic, I visited this romantic city of cobblestones, majestic cathedrals, and of ancient civilization, the seat of the Roman Catholic Church. It is also the land of the most authentic pizza and gelato. Can you guess the city?

 "pic2.jpg"
St Peter's Square

It is the lovely city of Rome! Pictured above are St Peter’s Basilica, with its famous majestic dome, and St Peter’s Square, the vast space in front of the basilica. This is where the Pope celebrates mass in front of multitudes on Holy days. The basilica is actually located in Vatican City, which is inside the city of Rome. Do you know that you can climb to the top of St Peter’s dome? On narrow stairs, 551 steps, we sure did!

The Colosseum Rome

Here’s the Colosseum, this formidable structure of an amphitheater where gladiators fought for their lives in ancient Rome. It remains one of the biggest attractions in the city, among the many Roman ruins. Seeing this massive structure from the outside, and then touring the inside arena, was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to the Eternal City.

The Eiffel Tower, Paris

I have also visited beautiful Paris once, this City of Lights, home of the Eiffel Tower -the beacon of Paris, the gothic Notre Dame Cathedral, the world-renowned Louvre Museum, and the golden Palace of Versailles. Part of this exciting, walking trip was going up the top of the Eiffel Tower, circling on the upper deck, and taking in the panoramic, breathtaking view of Paris. On this trip we also had a taste of the classic French escargot - buttered and garnished with herbs - it was good!

On the home front, we have had a few visits to sporadic cities on the east and west coasts of the US. Once, at Christmastime, we went to the Big Apple - New York, to experience the ball drop in Times Square at midnight on New Year’s eve. My ‘boys’ had the thrill of a lifetime, but me - not really! I was freezing! It was winter, it was very cold and windy, and the venue was jam-packed with people. So yeah, never again! Good thing we did other fun stuff later like watching two Broadway musicals, scaling up the Empire State Building, walking on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, and watching people line up to skate at the decorated Rockefeller Center.

On the US West Coast, we recently hiked at the Muir Redwood forest near San Francisco, California with a group of college friends. Walking under a canopy of these centuries-old redwood trees we took winding trails that would lead us to what they call Cathedral Grove. This trip brought a lot of nostalgia, camaraderie, and a bunch of laughs. And of course, we took a lot of photographs.

Going to San Francisco, we drove along the Pacific Coast coasting through the famous Big Sur - which boasts scenic landscapes and cliff tops with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean.

We also went sailing into Mexico on a very special occasion. Aboard the Carnival cruise ship Radiance, it was all fun and games, casino, dress-up gala nights, stand-up comedy, karaoke, and sumptuous dinners! Also late night pizza!

HAPPY STAYCATION-ER

When not traveling, I stay close to home, enjoy nature, take walks in the park or in the sand, and chase the sunset.

sunset1.jpg
Sunset in December

I also take random morning walks around the block, finding flowers and new growth along the way; I like the feel of the sun ‘burning’ my skin, enabling my body to make its own D vitamins!

After-dinner walks are hardly my thing, but I do it on occasion, and at times, it pays off to do so; twilight brings colorful skies, sometimes. Look at this recent photo of the sky near the house, on Halloween night. It was a real treat to see blazing orange skies!

 "pic15.jpg"
Blazing Sky

I also dabble in a bit of gardening in my backyard. I also keep a little garden inside the house, which I call my sanctuary, filled with crawling green vines, tropical plants, and whatnot.

We make every night at home a movie night, binging on Netflix, Hulu, or HBO max, with a bowl of popcorn, cookies, or nuts, on the side.

COASTKEEP-ER

I am a coast keeper! Every third week of the month, I try to participate in beach cleanups where we scour the beach for plastics or cigarette butts that have been left by beachgoers or carried to shore by the tide. Plastics do not degrade for many, many years, and remain almost forever as pollutants. When they finally break down into microplastics, ingesting them by accident or otherwise, would adversely affect all organisms, including humans. So let’s clean away the plastics. Recycling works as well.

In the three months here you must have learned a lot. Who was the friend who onboarded you?

And eventhough I like that you still did an intro and that you might know some things and even also upvoted 200 times I am still gonna leave you a welcome message.

YES you did it you are a 3 month hiver now. So I will leave the brittstarterkit to get you started in your journey here. But first Congrats it’s a great step in the blogging crypto world and blockchain.

There are a few tips needed in the beginning.
Not a must rather an advise to not let the Hive and the new experience be to daunting.

Your passions in real life can be an inspiration for online life and thoughts put into writing and a brand new hive blog is great and will be rewarded with votes which is fun. Your niche, hobby, views or new ideas are appreciated and will be read. If you have questions let us on hive know. There are many hivers that will help , if you ask your questions in comments or in a discord!

There is so much so all topics will have a place here. The hivinguniverse is so diverse it’s suitable for all of us. See the list of all communities on hive in your front end drop down menu. ( sound difficult but it’s the row on the left 😉 ) never give any of your passwords and please don’t click on links you get in comments in the beginning that can cause theft. Later in you will know what to click and what not.

There is a Discord called The Terminal for newbies and it has all the answers to your questions, join in, it’s free.
I am on Hive everyday ! You can always leave a comment. And we all have been ther so please don’t be afraid to ask there is so much that the beginning can be daunting and scary.

Dear @nathen007,
You easily judge someone, I guess!
You should have read her reply to @chillwithshanna of the @ocd team that she posted 7 days ago. You replied to @brittandjosie only YESTERDAY, that they did not reply as to who brought her to Hive.

You obviously did not read the entire comments on her introductory blog, because @brittandjosie asked about who brought her to Hive, but @chillwithshanna of @hiveph asked her first and she replied to her.

Hi @brittandjosie, the reason why I posted my reply under your comment was because you were asking @luvnlyf who brought her to Hive. Luvnlyf replied to @hiveph that it was me, @mers who brought her to hive and also a reply to nathen07 who remarked after 7 days on your comment that @luvnlyf did not reply. Well, he did not read the whole comments because the reply had been posted on the 1st day of the post... Sorry to say, if this was a botheration to you...but I think the issue is settled already.

Hello @nathen007

The account @sisterhood2 was actually co-owned by my sister and me, as we mentioned in our introduction last year. here. The two of us agreed that she would be the content creator. She's a better writer and more proactive, and I would be a co-investor. Hence any accumulated HP in that account has since been a mix of our invested monies and earned rewards from her blogs.

In recent months I have taken interest in reading blog posts, some really amazing and entertaining, and mostly not high brow....so I decided to try my hand at writing too!

While my sister and I share some common interests such as travel, we also have varying endeavors as well. I also have a story to tell. So, I created @luvinlyf, and this is definitely my first try.

I have seen joint sibling accounts at Hive which later evolved into individual accounts with one sibling breaking away. So I know my case is not an isolated one.

If that's a no-no at Hive, do tell!!!

What's a 'no' is you lying in the post and pretending to be a new member. You're a fraud. You were asked who introduced you and refused to answer.

The whole introduction is a lie and contrived, your 'friend ' @olivia08 also pops in to help reinforce the lie with a fraudulent comment of her own and she knows exactly who you are.

Fraud? I disagree my dear! I'm telling you there were two birds in the @sisterhood2 nest. One is trying to fly out the nest to make her mark in this exciting world-@luvinlyf. Nothing wrong with that. It doesn't matter that you doubt it to the high heavens. It IS still the truth.

But to the name of my friend who invited me to Hive, do read my response to @chillwithshanna. She asked. I answered.

@olivia08 is a friend of @sisterhood2. It was nice of her to welcome @luvinlyf into the community. Nothing fraudulent about that.

@nathen007...try to be less judgmental. Have an open mind. You know that life is short and that tomorrow is never promised. Live life with a smile on your face. You will look even better. Promise!

You attempted to dupe the community by pretending you were new to Hive as shown by your post. Simple.

My life advice to you is to not try and dupe people. Then you will be happier in life too :-)

Good morning @nathen007

The first thing I do every morning is to check my hive account. Time now is 8:17 in the morning , Saudi Arabia Time.

Yes , I knew her in hive. I met her here as @sisterhood2. After they decided to have another account, I support her because she invested and never blog to another platform. New account must be welcome here. I love hive because I earned and helped me to what I need financially. Is that wrong to welcome a newbie or new account? She is a good investor, an old woman to enjoy life. I respect her as a mother of me. I knew her since she joined hive and I know how good woman she is.

The only thing I knew I invited many people to join hive, I welcome them. I spared time guiding newbies without my own benefits. Every one who have new account that I knew, I welcome them how much more to this woman who generously share their vote. I told in my comment that she will enjoy because her sister was the one writing the blog because it was their joint account and she is the investor. I told her why not making her own blog so they will earn both.

I am a housemaid and honestly I don't read content always. Dropping my comment and upvote , I am done. I have problem at home in the Philippines.

Hopefully, the coming of @luvinlyf account will not be a big issue and please dont accuse me that I am a fraudulent old woman. I been here onboarded a lot of hivers and in the end, I became like that. I am so sad now😥. We need investor and how I plan to buy hive next year because I power down now for a certain reason happening in my life. I am copping all the pain and now being accused as fraudulent because of welcoming a new account.

Respectfully yours,
@olivia08

You welcomed her as a new user NOT a new account. There is a big difference. Her post was written to deliberately mislead the community that she was new to Hive which we know she is not.

Maybe, in that case I got wrong. I was not thinking that it became a big issue. I just thought its normal to welcome her . I am sorry if it is wrong in this place.

I welcome her to enjoy her blog not thinking if it is about new account or newbie. She was not writing before as she said.. I told her to enjoy because it is her first time writing a blog. How I wish to write a blog like that. A long blog. I just felt happy for her

What a beautiful place ! How I wish to be there and thank you for bringing up it here. Welcome to hive . I know that you will enjoy it.

I am not expecting that this words ignited me to a fraud😥.

Specifically new in hive, maybe that is the word as I review my comment.
You see me as real person who posted selfie in my blog. I never thought that I will be wellknown in hive now for that hurting word. I am so sad and it made me in tears.

Dear @nathen007,
I can vouch for @luvnlyf, she is a good person whom I know since 45 years. She is not a fraud or pretending to be a new user as what you were “INSISTING she is!. She might have said she is a “newbie”, yes a NEWBIE in the blogging world, it is her first time to post a blog, her introduction blog.

I would like you to prove that she is a Fraud, just simply because she used the word “NEWBIE'' in her first blog. Read her post once more…the word “NEW USER” was never mentioned there. There is a big difference between these words and you ought to tell it here!!! I am not sure what you are trying to prove here, but you are simply making accusations about her personality, an investor who is supporting a bit of the Hive blockchain by investing buying HIVE from her hard earned money.

I have introduced her to Hive about a year ago and explained what the platform is all about. But she was not interested, the only thing she wanted was to learn about crypto because at that time she was only investing in Stocks. She added, she was not interested in blogging as she was not into writing and because she had a very stressy job.. So she asked her sister who became interested in content creation, and the account @sisterhive2 was born. The younger sister is the content creator of the account and my friend was only the investor. Go check the wallet history of the account @sisterhood2 so you can see how much of her private funds went to that account. I explained that in order for the sister to blog on Hive, they needed liquid Hives to fund the account and that was the start of their investing in Hive liquid to Power up to be able to blog.

Over the months, the account really earned very little compared to other bloggers out there earning huge upvotes backed by some communities that have huge upvote trails. And sometimes some blogs have 400-500 upvotes but with very little comments. You must have noticed such practice, haven't you? Have you ever commented about such huge upvote practices on Hive? @sisterhood2 was not complaining about earning little although her sister wrote good contents.

Just about last Summer, @luvnlyf got her retirement… She decided to break away from the @sistehood2 account, pulled-out her investment there and sent the powered down amounts to Binance. But she didn´t have a Binance account as this Exchange is prohibited in the US, so she asked her nephew to transfer the powered-down amounts that started three months ago to her newly created account @luvnlyf.

DID SHE BREAK ANY HIVE RULES HERE???

Seriously @mers. I don't give a damn what people earn or don't so why, like your other friend, are you throwing other issues into your replies? None of this removes the fact that her opening paragraph suggests to the reader that they are a new hive user when in fact, they were part of Sisterhood2. You may wish to read their intro post again...

As I said. I'm not interested in any stories or history or investment. you're all using this to divert from the fact that this post set out, in my opinion, to deliberately deceive by failing to mention their existing account and lying that they had only been on Hive for 3 months.

Is that quite clear?

I have been in the hive community for the last three months,

Deliberate lie.>I am a newbie

Another lie. You've been here as part of sisterhood2 for quite a long time.

So why didn't she mention being part of the sisterhood2 account in her intro? Anything to do with their trip to HW for plag?

I made my point and I stand by what I said. End of discussion.

Aw come on! Well, that is your opinion you are entitled to.She need not explain about why or what about her collaborating with her sister as an investor. She is still in my opinion a "newbie" in the blogging world. Do what you want to say... why didn´t you flag her post anyway if you are not satisfied with her blog? Instead of making blah blah blah!

@luvinlyf ..reading through your "so called" introductory post. It doesn't seem to me as someone who just came onboard Hive platform. I took real time to read through all you wrote. I asked myself if I'd able to make such a good choice of words like you did; they were just so captivating with those pictures attached. Those places you visited on tours. They're indeed beautiful. Weldon for what you and your grew are doing for kids; knowing full well that they own the future and by lifting them now means in a way shaping the world to stand straight and right. Weldon!💪💪💪
From all cities you visited though you mentioned the longing to tour more; would you like to visit Nigeria? We've lovely natural zones to explore and to see them yourself. Weldon and welcome🙌🙌🙌
It seems your writing will be an aid to me if i want to write too; they appear so simply but going through it wows me💃💃💃. Am sure another may have similar exclamation as I do.
#shalom!
