Today I will be telling you about a book that was quite popular at the time and today has become a favorite for many! Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston.
Alex es el hijo de la primera presidenta femenina de los estados unidos de América, ambicioso y algo terco, pero que sobre todo, parece odiar a muerte al chico preferido de Inglaterra, el príncipe Henry, pero cuando una situación se le escapa de las manos y la tensión entre dos naciones aumenta, ambos se verán a obligados a entablar una amistad que hará a Alex darse cuenta de que su archienemigo proclamado (del cual está un poco obsesionado) no es tan malo como siempre ha pensado y que incluso, al final del día, quizás nunca odio a Henry desde el principio, pero si ya de por si es complicado con ser el hijo de la presidenta de Estados Unidos, ¿Cuánto cambiara su vida al enamorarse de otro hombre quien también es el príncipe de Inglaterra?

Los inicios son primordiales a la hora de leer un libro para mi, y con este libro solo se necesitaron un par de páginas para mantenerme enganchada y leerlo hasta el final, y en menos de un día, Rojo, Blanco y Sangre Azul se gano mi corazón y me hizo reír y agarrarme fuerte del asiento en las partes con más drama, amo las historias enfocadas en la mirada pública, novelas sobre actores, famosos o simplemente personas con gran influencia siempre me son interesantes y esta vez no solo tenemos a un príncipe si no que también al hijo de la primera presidenta femenina de los estados unidos, quienes siempre están bajo la mira de la gente y siento que fue una perspectiva refrescante
Beginnings are paramount when reading a book for me, and with this book it only took a couple of pages to keep me hooked and read it to the end, and in less than a day, Red, White and Royal Blue won my heart and made me laugh and hold my seat tight in the parts with more drama, I love stories focused on the public eye, novels about actors, celebrities or simply people with great influence are always interesting to me and this time we not only have a prince but also the son of the first female president of the United States, who are always under the spotlight and I feel it was a refreshing perspective.
Alex no se da cuenta de inmediato por su atracción a su mismo género y el proceso por el que pasa para caer en cuenta de ello fue bastante divertido a su vez su preocupaciones con tal revelación sobre sí mismos son bastantes acertadas debido a su papel en la política pero afortunadamente, el amor triunfa (aunque nos hacen pasar algunos malos momentos de por medio), pero vale, se les perdona. Henry por su parte demuestra ser una persona totalmente diferente a la que se le conoce pero aun así encantadora y algo idealista en el sentido de que siempre apuesta por hace las cosas lo mejor posible para todos (como todo un príncipe de cuentos de hadas vaya)
Alex doesn't realize it right away because of his attraction to the same gender and the process he goes through to realize it was quite funny and their concerns with such a revelation about themselves are quite accurate because of their role in politics but fortunately, love triumphs (although they make us spend some bad moments in between), but okay, they are forgiven. Henry for his part proves to be a totally different person than the one we know him as, but still charming and somewhat idealistic in the sense that he always tries to make things as good as possible for everyone (like a prince in fairy tales).
Ambos parecen ser polos opuestos pero lo cierto es que logran tener más cosas en común de lo que se esperaban, Henry no es el chico perfecto que Alex pensaba que era, de hecho llega a tener gustos y deseos bastantes normales justo como cualquier otra persona (solo que pertenece a la familia real y con ello conlleva ocultar esa parte de el) Alex se lleva una gran sorpresa al disfrutar cada vez más de la compañía y amistad de Henry y comprender que muchas de sus creencias arraigadas a Henry estaban equivocadas, ambos entablan un nivel de compresión mutua que no podrían tener con otras personas, el mundo espera mucho de ellos y eso hace que su conexión sea más única y los sentimientos se crean en el medio de este vinculo que ambos desarrollan
Both seem to be polar opposites but the truth is that they manage to have more things in common than they expected, Henry is not the perfect boy that Alex thought he was, in fact he comes to have quite normal tastes and desires just like any other person (only that he belongs to the royal family and with that entails hiding that part of him) Alex takes a big surprise to enjoy more and more of Henry's company and friendship and understand that many of his beliefs rooted to Henry were wrong, The two develop a level of mutual understanding that they could not have with other people, the world expects a lot from them and that makes their connection more unique and feelings are created in the midst of this bond that they both develop.
Como buena fan y fiel seguidora del tema “enemigos a amantes” Rojo, Blanco y Sangre Azul es un libro que disfrute por completo y con un cliché (afortunadamente) bien logrado, pero eso sí, considero que aun estamos un poco lejos de ser tan “libres” y abiertos en el entorno político como lo son algunos de los personajes en el libro, pero aun así no llega a sentirse demasiado irreal, te hace pensar por un momento que realmente estás viviendo todo el drama de la historia y que podría ser algo que pasaría en la vida real, para aquellos fans del romance juvenil y el BL sin duda es libro más que recomendado
As a good fan and faithful follower of the "enemies to lovers" theme Red, White and Royal Blue is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and with a cliché (fortunately) well achieved, but yes, I consider that we are still a little far from being as "free" and open in the political environment as some of the characters in the book are, but even so it doesn't feel too unrealistic, it makes you think for a moment that you are really living all the drama of the story and that it could be something that would happen in real life, for those fans of young romance and BL it is certainly a book more than recommended.
