Homesteading | harvesting rice the traditional way 🌾🌾🥰
Greetings my family, may today be a great day and a happy day for all of us in the #homesteading community.
On this day I was very happy when I saw my rice fields finally entering the harvest period, it had been almost 4 months that I took care of my rice plants with care and selection of superior rice seeds for good rice growth so that it could produce a bountiful harvest, As we know rice is a type of plant that greatly helps the community's economy as the main ingredient for daily consumption by humans in particular, Rice Seeds are rice processed by cooking as a meal that is enjoyed by many people.
Today is a happy day for me and my family, finally the wait for four months has finally arrived, this is the harvest time on rice fields carried out jointly by the wider community in my village.
Exactly at 8 am this morning my mother invited a friend or colleague to work on my rice fields to harvest rice, as usual every year when the harvest period arrives there will be people who are hired by my mother to help her in the fields, in my village harvesting rice is still quite traditional of course, still using hands or sharp objects to cut them, The sharp object we call in perdasaan is "Sadeup" or known as celurit, as is known celurit is a knife with a sharp iron circle that can make it easier for farmers to cut their rice, this is very traditional in this way the community is easy to get employment in rice fields because where I live has not used machines to harvest rice.
Rice seeds that have entered the harvest period will usually be yellow and the leaves of rice leaves will dry, when entering the harvest period like this rice seeds that are due to be harvested cannot be waited for, because the seeds that are yellow and dry will fall out or fall, because of this.
Today's weather is quite hot so my mother is wearing long clothes and a head covering. I hope that this year's harvest will be as good as my hopes.
