There's this kind of forcefull leadership that's just unnecessary

I have seen in my life experience that there are leaders who try too hard to seem all knowing. They speak, micromanage and allow no input from anyone else. Regardless of how good they are, that type of leadership drains people. Nobody wants to work for a robotic overlord, associate with a mechanized dictating boss teacher. No one wants to because everyone wants to be appreciated, that's how we are naturally. We want to be listened too and have some degree of faith and not just rely. The opposite of trust is surveillance.

It is the surveillance that makes people work harder, not smarter. And in this era, working hader will never guarantee more results.

I personally believe that people do better when they are given real space and not fake open door policies. I sat that to think of why people perform well without someone breathing down their necks. The answer is already simple, people usually feel trusted with autonomy.

Unfortunately , some leaders believe self care practices like just take a little leisure or resting is a sign of weakness. They see things like when an employee says I need help or when an employee takes a break as a taboo and I believe that should not be the case. If the leader is falling apart, the team as a whole shakes.

Some of the leaders lead with no breaks or pause. When I become a leader of any group, even my small WhatsApp group where we discuss crypto, money, finance, I don't just send messages to them and say, this is the only way so use this method or that principle. I allow everyone to bring their views and also if some slack behind in savings, I tell them it's ok to make mistakes, besides, life happens and there could be a strong reason why the person couldn't keep saving.

There people overworking themselves is not going to guarantee that the company or the group will thrive, rather I think that kind of culture is a time bomb because eventually burnout happens and if they overwork they'll demand more pay for that and if you the leader can't pay them equal to how much you're demanding work from them, then all they need is a letter from another better organization hiring and you'll lose them.
