From the Scottsdale Mint the 2022 1oz silver Grenada nutmeg coin is another great product backed by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.

Grenada is one of the eight contries that are encompassed within the EC8 all backed by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. The 2022 nutmeg coin has a very clean design with a proof like finish on one side and a more frosted finish on the other side.

The obverse side freatures a frosted center with a side view of Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by a laurel wreath. The shiny outer rim is inscribed with EASTERN CARIBBEAN CENTRAL BANK on the top, QUEEN ELIZABETH II on the bottom, .999 SILVER on the left and TWO DOLLARS on the right.

The Reverse features a nutmeg tree on top of a hill in the center with nutmeg leaves coming into view on the left and right. The top is inscribed with GRENADA and just under it 2022.

While I was doing research about this coin for my post I came accross some information that I did not know. I have cooked professionally for over 30 years and I know about the spice Mace and have seen it before but I have never used it. I'm pretty sure most people know what Nutmeg is even if they have never used it they have probably seen it at some point.

I had no idea that Nutmeg and Mace came from the same tree. Me being a cook I had to look into this and find out more about it. While I was looking around I found Spice Factors Youtube video that quickly explains about where both come from. Did you know where the spice Mace came from?

That is interesting, I didn't know that either! Live and learn.. Cool coin, I honestly didn't know Grenada produced silver coins. I'll have to keep my eyes open and look for some Caribbean non pirate silver! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, I don't know all of the countries in the Caribbean that have silver coins but the 8 countries involved with the EC8 all have multiple coins each year.

I noticed that you have quite a number of Caribbean coins. What does "Issuing Country: Eastern Caribbean Bank" mean?

Yes I have several Caribbean coins, a company I get auto shipped coins from every month I think has a deal with the Scottsdale Mint and they do all the coins from the EC8.

I should have been more specific so I edited the info. The country is Grenada but the issuer of their currency is the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank that governs the currency from the 8 countries in the EC8.
