Palau 1/2 Gram Gold $1 Santa Claus Shaped Coin

Nothing says Merry Christmas better then gold and this tiny .5 gram Santa coin from Palau doesn't disappoint.

It's that time of year again and it's crazy how fast it came back around. It feels like we just had Christmas and New Year's and here it is back already. I figured there is no better way to celebrate then with some nice shiny gold Santa Claus coins.

I got a good deal on these two tiny coins last year, they were left overs after the holidays so they put them on sale. I don't remember the price but they were much cheaper then you can get them for now. If I remember right it was just under $130 for these two and also two uncirculated 1967 Canada running bobcat quarters, so well worth the money looking at today's prices.

The obverse side features the crest of the Republic of Palau, which includes an image of Neptune with a mermaid on one side and a treasure chest on the other side of him and the inscription "RAINBOW'S END". Just above the crest is a canoe with a person paddling. There is the Country name above all that, REPUBLIC OF PALAU and 1$ on the bottom.

The Reverse side features a depiction of Santa Claus.
