Ambalangoda city is busy and full of all amenities.
Hi my loving Hivers,
So how are you guys? I hope you are all well. I prefer to travel regularly with my beloved family because it gives me fun inspiration. Also because it is possible to study about the people's life, lifestyles, beautiful landscapes, history and culture of the visited area. The city of Ambalangoda, which belongs to the Galle district in the southern province of Sri Lanka, is a very special city because it is a city steeped in history. In the past, Ambalangoda town was famous for puppetry and mask art. It is a matter of regret that puppetry and mask art, which has been traditional since the past, is performed by only a few people today. Puppet art is a traditional art of Sri Lanka. A few private museums for masks and puppets still exist in Ambalangoda. If you want to reach Ambalangoda city, you can use several routes. From Colombo, you can use the Dakshina Expressway and take the Kurudugahahathapama exit to reach Ambalangoda. Galle Colombo Coastal Road or Railway can also be used to reach Ambalangoda town.
Ambalangoda Sangharaja Temple, built by Deva Pratiraja on the orders of King Parakramabahu II, is a shrine with a history of nearly 1000 years. It is mentioned at the entrance that it was built in 1215 AD. I did not go inside the temple because I had to cover other places in the city. The temple has got a new look as it was recently painted.
A few stupas, worshiped with great respect by Sri Lankan Buddhists, were built on a small rock. I think these were also built in the past. However, its historical value is high.
I mentioned that there are several private museums as well as places selling masks in Ambalangoda. About two years ago, a content was presented about these masks belonging to various traditions and arts. I could see a private museum called Ariapala and Sons. You can even study the evolution of Sri Lankan mask art by going to these museums.
As Ambalangoda is a very busy city, traffic jams and large crowds can be seen everywhere. The main road is also narrow in nature as it consists of two lanes. There are a number of financial institutions established in Sri Lanka to meet the financial needs of people. White lines can be seen everywhere for the convenience of the passengers to walk across the road. Especially since there are two national schools, white lines are important for the safety of students.
Not only for domestic passengers but also for the various financial needs of foreign tourists, public and private banks perform no small task. Various architectural shapes and colors have been used to enhance the look of these attractive bank buildings to attract customers. The parking space of these banks has been increased for the convenience of the customers, which are established near a very busy, space-limited road.
Malls set up to buy textiles, electrical items and books that people need are widely found on the main road and side streets in Ambalangoda town. Therefore, customers have the opportunity to compare prices and buy. It is a great relief to be able to buy all the goods one needs at a minimum price in one place.
A number of pharmacies are also established in Ambalangoda town to buy medicines required by patients. Although there is a shortage of medicines in Sri Lanka at present, it is possible to get any medicine from these places because they are close to the city.
There are a number of studios here that are capable of taking even a photo of a person, editing photos, digital printing, etc. It is also a great advantage to have shops for new computer needs, computer troubleshooting etc.
A large crowd gathered near a medium-sized building, so when I turned my attention to the place, I could see small stalls selling vegetables and fruits. There was a significant number of customers because of its fresh and cheap fruits and vegetables.
Having a branch of one of the world's most popular food brands, KFC, in Ambalangoda city is sure to bring joy to everyone at home and abroad. Not many people were there because the food prices were high.
There is also a local establishment called Sporting Times for those who are into gambling. Its green glass adds a bright light to the city.
The main bus stand of Ambalangoda town is a very busy place. A number of private and public buses operate according to a schedule to travel to most parts of Sri Lanka. These buses that travel between the cities and villages of Sri Lanka provide a very convenient service to the passengers. It is a great relief to the passengers that a number of shops selling various goods have been established in the Ambalangoda main bus stand building.
Also, there is a fuel station in Ambalangoda town, so it is a relief for the drivers. But it has normal traffic because it is located in an urban area. Also, there is a filling station near Seylan Bank so you don't have to worry about traffic.
Shops are available in this Ambalangoda town to get any snacks, lunch etc. you need so no doubt. Literally, you can buy everything in Ambalangoda. Also, shops and institutions have been built in Ambalangoda town to get any service you need.
When I left the city a little, I noticed a place for making and repairing boats used for fishing. I actually saw several multi-day fishing boats there. Small fishing boats were not seen. Therefore, it can be imagined that only large boats are repaired at this place.
Meanwhile, I got to see a gate built with black stones in the shape of the entrance gate of the Galle Fort wall. I could see from a distance that it was a hotel still under construction. So this ends another beautiful travel experience. Temporarily goodbye with the hope of meeting again.

Glad to hear that. They often show here in the news how bad the situation in Sri Lanka is so I just wanted to stop by and check on you...
In the past, there were many crises that made it difficult to live. But nowadays, the situation has improved a little, and foreign tourists have come to our country in large numbers. At present, electricity is cut for only one hour per day.
