How are you Hivers? I really believe you are doing well right now. About two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to go to a beautiful 4-star hotel near the beach in North-West Province for a company outing with my family members and colleagues. A travel content was also presented in this regard. There, architectural elements were not mentioned and further information will be presented later. The destination was only 215 km from our house. We were able to manage our time due to the opportunity to travel in a bus booked by our company. So today's content I hope to present is about the architectural concepts I explored in the beautiful Anantaya Spa and Resort located just outside of Chilaw.

After a few hours of driving, the bus reached the entrance of Anantaya Spa and Resort. Left all our luggage near the entry point and went to the reception desk to get the keys to the reserved rooms, signed in and got the keys. After that we had a long way to go. The reason is the increase in the area of the hotel. You have to walk a short distance in the column with the ceramic tile floor, so stop for a while and pay attention to the beautiful features there. The upper floor is supported by several tall concrete pillars in square shape. When it rains, transparent white thick polythene covers are used to prevent water from entering due to the wind. These can shrink in the absence of rain.

The Architecture of visitor's zone

There are also some wooden chairs to sit on if you feel tired while walking. It should be mentioned that it is a relief to the guests. Although called wooden chairs, the seating part is made of strong elastic fabric. Guests can then recline and sit as they wish. In the meantime, there are several circular stools made of wood and polished to place luggage etc.

Anantaya Spa and Resort also had seating for a small family in the guest relaxation area. There are some cushioned sofa-like chairs. A glass cover made of steel plate has been used for the stool at that place. The appearance of these chairs has a striking design. Add a touch of freshness by adding pots with ornamental plants.

Several booths are found in the visitor zone. You can't really get a good idea of what's inside because the reflection shadow of the rear scene falls on the glass when taking photos. Jewelery created from metals like silver and brass can be seen in one of the stalls. Some sea animal skeletons can be seen in another chamber. It is a rare opportunity to see only part of a large blue whale skeleton. It was not possible to enter these exhibition booths as the doors were locked.

The architecture of the restaurant

After leaving all the luggage in our rooms, we went to Anantaya Spa and Resort's main restaurant for lunch early to take some photos before the guests had lunch. Then you can get a better understanding of how the restaurant is set up here. The floor of the restaurant is covered with ceramic tiles. Although it is convenient for guests, water splashing on the floor can also cause slips.

In the main restaurant, guests had to go inside a glass door to get their food. It was not air-conditioned as it was located in an area open to the wind. It is noteworthy that wheelchair facilities are also provided for disabled guests. Buffets were set up everywhere to choose food. They are provided to the visitors to choose according to their preference.

Anantaya Spa and Resort's main restaurant dining hall is partitioned into several sections. Wooden frames with beautiful carvings have been used for that. These wooden carving frames are found at various places in the hotel. Wooden chairs and tables are arranged for the guests to sit. Due to the roughness of the wooden chairs, small cushions were used. The hotel's restaurant staff are very busy during meal times but provide friendly service. The service required by the guests is immediately provided and the tables that have finished eating are quickly set for others. The restaurant area can be mentioned as a place that is mostly made of wood.

Outside's shape of Architecture

Anantaya Spa and Resort has several buildings that offer room facilities. The top of the buildings is triangular in shape. It is one of the most impressive architectural forms. Environmentally friendly sheets are installed for the roof. The rectangular wooden frames for the windows are painted brown. Wooden frames are installed for the balconies on the upper floors because the steel plates rust. Most of the wood is used because it is built in a saline area.

Anantaya Spa and Resort is more than just a resort. A wide range of Ayurvedic massages are available for guests. But it is valid only for guests who have booked villas built in the swamp. These villas are actually built on stilts above the water in the swamp. Guests can use this villa to have a cool experience. It can be clearly said that the eco-friendly concept has been used in the construction of this villa. This villa can be introduced as the most attractive place I have seen in this hotel.

Room's architecture

After entering the room and inserting the key into the hotel card, everything turns on automatically, so there is no need to turn on the switches. It saves visitors valuable time.

The presence of a wooden cupboard to keep clothes and a safe to keep money and jewelery in the room is also a relief for the guests. There is also an iron for washing clothes, so it is also convenient.

Rooms at Anantaya Spa and Resort are more spacious than other hotel rooms. There is a curiosity as to why some wooden beams were fixed below the ceiling inside. Having a single concrete slab ceiling is equivalent to bearing strength.

We had two air conditioners in our room. One of the air conditioners automatically turns on after the key is inserted, but the other can be turned off with a switch. Facilities were also provided to watch television channels through satellite. Inside the room, murals of workers in traditional industries were framed and hung on the wall. Also, between the bed and the sofa, a wooden frame with wood carvings was arranged attractively like in the restaurant.

Bathroom's architecture

The bathroom at Anantaya Spa and Resort is also finished with unique features. A modern sink is installed to wash the face and get water. The hotel also provides free soap and shampoo. The taps for getting water are steel ones. A machine is also kept here to dry hair after showering.

Anantaya Spa and Resort bathroom has a spacious bathtub to take more time to take a bath. It is unique for a guest who enjoys a very comfortable experience. Woven rattan mats are hung in this bathroom so that they cannot be seen from the outside. It is formulated using natural ingredients.

The bathroom has a shower for both hot water and cold water. Anyone can take a shower or bath tub as they wish. Commodes have been installed for toilets. There is also a steel rack for hanging towels etc. In this way, Anantaya Spa and Resort offers many facilities to the guests.
