For those who are looking for different flavors, this is how we made Chicken Kulambu, which contains a lot of spices.
Hello my fellow foodie lovers,
Merry Christmas da to you all my friends. So I believe in this enjoyable day everyone being happy with loving once. So many Xmas decorations I could see via my hivers around the world. Today I had plan to travel beautiful destination in my country. Unfortunately whole day had heavy rain condition. So I decided to go to the kitchen for cook delecious food. This was very first time prepare chicken with potatoes. I already see many hivers prepared chicken with another vegetable combination. The taste of food is really different from country to country. Also, in our country, the taste of food varies from region to region. The ingredients are also different. Among them, there are dishes unique to the Jaffna area. The people of the northern province have different cooking skills just like the people of the southern province. The people of the northern province collect more spices because they are Tamil and are located close to India. Due to them, the taste and smell of food are also increased. So let'see how I cooked since home.
Ingredients
- 500 grams of chicken
- 150 grams of potatoes
- Half a cup of water
- One cup of coconut milk
- Oil for frying
- Four dry chili pods
- One and a half teaspoons of pepper
- Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
- Cumin seeds ½ tsp
- Half a teaspoon of fenugreek
- A teaspoon of coriander seeds
- One and a half teaspoon of chili powder
- Chopped onions
- Chopped green chilies
- Curry leaves and pandan leaves
- A piece of crushed lime grass
- Chopped capsicum
- Juice of half a lime
Preparing method
- First put a pan on the stove and add dry chillies, curry leaves, coriander seeds and cumin seeds.
- Add fenugreek, pepper, turmeric powder and chilli powder and fry.
- After roasting them, grind them and make Jaffna curry powder.
- After that, place a pan on the stove and add pandan leaves, green chillies, curry leaves and lime grass and fry well.
- Then add some oil to it and fry the chopped onions until golden.
- Wash the chicken well and cut it into small pieces. Potatoes should also be cut into pieces. Now add the cut potatoes, chicken and water and let it boil for about ten minutes.
- Next add the cup of coconut milk. Add chopped capsicum to it and mix.
- Next, you need to add the previously prepared Jaffna curry powder to it. When the broth thickens, sprinkle the salt powder. After that, you need to leave it for another two minutes, squeeze half a lemon and take it off the stove.
Finally I made really delicious chicken mixed patato curry. Then we enjoyed lunch with rice and other side dishes. You can try this out if you are satisfying about the recipe.
