How we did night decorations at home on the important Vesak full moon poyaday.

What's up? Greetings from Sri Lanka. I haven't been able to refer to this Hive Blockchain content for the past three weeks due to sheer busyness. So I missed a lot of valuable content and couldn't even comment on each other. However, I always tried my best to stay here. The month of May is a very important month for Buddhists living all over the world because the three important events of the birth, enlightenment and death of our religious teacher Buddha happened on a Vesak Poya day in May. Vesak Poya of the year 2023 was celebrated yesterday, May 5th. So there were many traditional things to do on this beautiful day of Vesak full moon poyaday.In this content, I hope to present some of the various decorations that we did last night.

Since ancient time Sri Lankan Buddhists prepared a unique decorations known as Vesak lanterns. But due to the current busyness, many Buddhist do not make such Vesak lanterns since their houses. Therefore, there is more incentive to buy them from the market. Beautiful well-crafted Vesak lanterns were seen in the market, but there was no creativity in them. Therefore, if we can make them from home as far as possible, we will be able to add more creativity. As I was busy with my duties, Vesak lanterns were made in my house by my wife. I gave little bit support to some extent in making one Vesak lantern as well as sticking the other lanterns. These vesak lanterns with oil papers pasted in different colors give a very unique and attractive look to the night.

Bulb vines of various colors, various decorationsand various sizes to lighting in the night is task we still performs in Buddhist homes. Being able to buy them from market is a very special advantage. Through them, there is an opportunity to give a beautiful shine to the homes at night. In addition to this, Buddhists use coconut oil to light coconut oil lamps, a material knows as Vesak buckets, using candles takes a prominent place among the activities carried out in the ad night. Due to the current situation, many Buddhist house in Sri Lanka did not perform all kinds of night decorations this Vesak poyaday. Generally, Buddhists go to the temples for religious ceremonies after did the night decorations of their houses. But due to the heavy rain last night, many of Buddhits devotees did not get a chance to reach the temples, so the relicious activities were done from home.
