Hello my loving friends, Greetings from Sri Lanka. Today, Saturday, was also a day off from work, so I was able to walk through another lovely village. Ovilana is the name of the perfect village in this beautiful setting in the Galle district where I live. It was about 10 km from our house so I used a motorcycle. Arriving at the village boundary, the first thing I did was park my motorbike near a nearby grocery store and start walking around the village. I did not forget to buy a bottle of water and a small packet of biscuits from the grocery store as it was my duty and gratitude for protecting the bike. It is important to note that I made this trip on my own. In the village of Ovilana, as in other villages I visited, there were paddy fields.

The heavy rains over the past few days had submerged most of the ground, but the rains in the paddy fields suggest that the village of Ovilana had received enough rain. One farmer smiled at us and thought to go to the paddy field but I took 3 minutes of his valuable time and got a chance to talk. He knew about the village information and living conditions because he was an old villager. He said that due to the current shortage of fertilizer in Sri Lanka and the high prices of fertilizers, this year's paddy harvest could not be as successful as it used to be. The end result is that Sri Lanka, which had a self-sufficient economy, will face a food crisis in the future. However, the work done by these farmers should be appreciated.

There was a lot of shade along the main road in Ovilana village due to the large trees along the road. The coolness they provide to the village as well as to nature is unparalleled. Sometimes I do not even think to stop there. Coconut plantations full of coconut trees are also a sight to behold in Ovilana village. These days the paddy fields in the village of Ovilana have become muddy due to the beginning of the growing season. Thanks for visiting. See you soon. Have a nice weekend.
