Hi dear friends, Greetings from Sri Lanka. I believe you are enjoying this weekend with loving once. This time my daughter's birthday is today, June 26th. But like the last three years, we did not order this year's birthday cake to be made according to a pattern because of the high prices available. We used the evening to celebrate our daughter's birthday only with family members as we need to be financially strong to face the economic crisis that lies ahead. We decided to buy the cake at the Perera and Sons Bakers Magalla branch, about 3 km from our house. It was hot in the sun when we got there, but it was not a problem. After entering the bakers, we looked at the cake display and saw the prices, shapes, designs, etc., and a female employee came up to us. Once she knew our purpose, she began to commit to it. The Magalla branch employs only one female employee as the top management has decided to maintain a minimum staff in order to minimize the cost of the institutions. But she worked with great dedication and efficiency.

I forgot to mention one thing here. Since my birthday is also coming up next Tuesday, Perera and Sons went to Bakers to buy birthday cakes for my daughter and me. Checking the prices, it was concluded that the price of cakes has tripled this year compared to last year. There were several beautiful cakes in different flavors and shapes, ranging from one kilogram to 600 grams. I bought a beautifully shaped round 600 gram cake called Chocolate Forest for 1600 Sri Lankan Rupees (5.33 USD) for my birthday. It was mostly chocolate mixed cakes. They were decorated with flower shapes as well as chocolate sprinkles. A kilo of coffee Nougat Gateau cake sells for 2100 Sri Lankan Rupees (7 USD). The taste of Nougat Gateau cake is amazing. We bought a 500 gram chocolate cake called Chocolate Ganach for our daughter's birthday for 1100 Sri Lankan rupees.

Perera and Sons Bakers is a type of restaurant that sells clean food spread all over Sri Lanka. Cakes are not the only ones sold here. It also sells a variety of buns, pastries, etc. for the needs of the customers. Chicken and mushroom pie, Chicken sausage pastry, Chicken puff, Chicken creamy puff, Fish pastry, Fish patty were some of the different delicacies here.

In addition, sweets were on display. My fascination was with a beautifully decorated ball called Ganach Delight. Nought cake pieces, Chocolate pastry, Cheese cake, Choco chip muffin, Choclate eclair, Chocolate donut etc. Sweets that are loved by children as well as adults are available here at reasonable prices.
