Explorando mi significativo Municipio Cabimas, ubicado en la Costa Oriental del Lago de Maracaibo en mi pais Venezuela , en nuestra región Zuliana tenemos un “Puente Sobre el Lago de Maracaibo” , es una estructura arquitectónica de icono cultural se inauguró esta hermosa obra en el año 1962 en cemento y estructuras metálicas contiene más de 20 pilas de equilibrio y guayas de contención posee carreteras longitud total 8,678 Kilómetros de ida y vuelta , cruza la parte más angosta del lago de Maracaibo, en Zulia en el noroeste de Venezuela y conecta la ciudad de Maracaibo con el resto del país. Fue nombrado en honor del general Rafael Urdaneta, héroe zuliano de la independencia de Venezuela. Es de los más grandes del mundo en su tipo, el segundo más largo de América Latina.

En Cabimas se dice que está ubicada después pasar el charco quiere decir después al pasar el Puente Sobre el Lago.

El nombre Cabimas:
Proviene de una voz indígena de origen caribe, con la cual se designa en Venezuela a un árbol conocido con el nombre de Copaiba o Cabima (Copaifera venezuelana Harms y Pittier, variedad laxa Xena y Arroyo) de cuyo tronco se extrae un aceite que tiene usos medicinales, y es conocido como Palo de Aceite Bálsamo de Copaiba o Aceite de Palo. Habia dos (2) frondosos árboles de Cabima ubicados a orillas de la playa en La Vereda se usaban como señal de los navegantes de Maracaibo para saber que habían llegado a la Costa Oriental. Vamos para Las Cabimas, decían los Marabinos cuando daban a este lugar como destino.
The name Cabimas:

Las tradiciones nacen del hacer en convivencia de los habitantes de nuestro pueblo surgen de las costumbres es un sentir popular de la cultura Cabimenses conforman nuestra identidad cultural les presento rasgos más significativos:
•Arquitectura:
Las estructuras arquitectónicas, a lo largo de los años a grandes rasgo tiene varias fases: las casas Indígenas (construcción de chozas de pajas) viviendas rurales casa de paredes de barro y techo de palma fase pueblo Petrolero: el petróleo dejo su huella profunda en la arquitectura de Cabimas, agrego urbanismo a la integración realidad cultural, se formaron colonias inglesas casas de maderas con teja clubes, comisariatos, la fase post petrolera se construyeron casa, mansiones de bloques con zinc o de placas, edificios hoteles y patrimonio iconos cultural: iglesia, plazas, teatro.
•Gastronomía:
El coco es un fruto característico en mi tierra antes la época petrolera de allí se elaboraban sopas de coco, pescado en coco, bollos de pescado, después del petróleo surgió la arepa Cabimera consiste en una arepa de harina de maíz frita cortada en trozo y le colocan encima carne mechada, huevo queso, salsas y ensaladas es rica degustarla muy vendida, además se añadieron platos de recetas culinarias de otras regiones del país y de diferentes países hallacas, pabellón criollo , les puedo decir que la gastronomía es muy variedad bien sazonada. Además de la comida están los dulces de coco conservas, dulce de papaya y piña, turrones de ajonjolí entre otros.
•Gentilicio Cabimense:
Nuestro Gentilicio Cabimense o Cabimero somos personas con buen sentido del humor ocurrentes al hablar y actuar, con aprendizajes empíricos petroleros se formo una cultura que ha dado fruto profesionales a nivel nacional e internacional en aéreas petroleras, de acá han surgidos personaje que ha dejado huellas de nuestra historia local en diferentes áreas del saber humano: artesanos , pintores, poetas y amantes de la gaita ha surgido representaciones musicales de este género musical hay grupos gaiteros Barrio Obrero de Cabimas Gran Coquivacoa; el Cabimero es talentoso en música y en tocar instrumentos musicales, regionalista.
•Tradiciones orales:
Tradiciones orales o dialectos de Cabimas, incluyendo modismos propios de este pueblo y añadiendo frases escuchadas a raíz de la explotación petrolera , estas palabras que escuchaba en ingles las pronunciaba mal el Cabimero y quedaron como costumbres ejemplo a un refresco de sabor naranja le llamamos oranche y viene del ingles Orange otro ejemplo a los trabajadores que vigilantes de noche les dice es guachiman forma correcta en ingles watchman y en cuanto nuestros vocabulario autentico humorístico al hablar tenemos un gran cantidad de oraciones conjugada la palabra "Verga" para los Cabimenses denota una exclamación ejemplo, ese trabajo te quedo VERGATARIO queremos decir es que el trabajo quedo excelente.
•Personajes Emblemáticos:
De nuestras raices tenemos a Bernado Bracho obrero y gaitero, Margarita Soto la Comadrona mas buena, Jesus Teran Chavin músico gaitero , Neguito Borjas gaitero Marcelino el Agüero vendedor de agua , la loca Petra personaje reconocida, Mimo el hacedor de las arepas Cabimeras y el Licenciado Javier Fernández Angulo escritor por su amor a la cultura y al paisaje de Cabimas y en honor a otras personalidades proactivas y reconocidas de mi ciudad Cabimas Estado Zulia.

•Fiestas de Expresión Popular:
Fiestas de expresión populares anuales en procesión con eucaristías y gaitas en honor a las vírgenes de la región: a la Chinita el 18 de noviembre patrona de Maracaibo y en fecha 7 de octubre fiesta a la "Virgen del Rosario Patrona de Cabimas"; asi como a fiestas patronales tradicionales a los Cabimenses nos gusta nuestra propia música la gaita en fechas decembrinas y el baile al son del tambor de los chimbangleros contentos los Cabimeros a bailar y disfrutar las fiestas del santo negrito "San Benito" se acostumbra en promesa a bañar el santo con aguardiente y llevan flores y objetos sus devotos celebrado el 27 diciembre y el 6 enero de cada año.
•Mujeres bellas (Mises) en concursos de bellezas nacionales e internacionales:
La mujer de Cabimas y de nuestra región Zuliana nos cuidamos para mantenernos en forma y nos arreglamos para realzar nuestra belleza . Este año 2020 Mariangel Villasmil una bella Zuliana se corono Miss Venezuela 2020 y participara en el Concurso Miss Universo a nivel Mundial.
