We all want to work when we're inspired, but that's not how life works. But doing nothing is a sure way to never ger inspired. So we work at whatever task we have at hand because that's what we're expected to do.
It's how we acquire work ethic: to do things because they need to be done, not because we are ordered to get them done. Cultivation of work ethic is preparation for the arrival of whatever muse we seek. Then as we're one with our work we can receive inspiration.

Some Information about Isabel Allende

Isabel Allende was born in Lima, Peru on 1942-August-2.

Born in Peru, Isabel Allende is a child of Chilean parents. She worked in Chile as a journalist until the President of Chile, Salvador Allende, was assasinated on 1973-September-11. He was her father's cousin, so there was worry that the family was also marked for death if they remained in Chile. After President Allende was assainated, the family fled to Venezuela.

Her grandfather was terminally ill, and Isabel Allende began writing a letter to him. This letter had taken on new form as her first novel, La casa de los espíritus (The House of the Spirits). This 1982 novel would later be made into a film of the same name in 1993.

Isabel Allende had written several more novels and works of literature while living in Venezuela. In the 1990s she moved to the United States, and she resumed her writing. In 1996 she founded the Isabel Allende Foundation to support non-profit organizations devoted to issues facing women and girls in Chile as well as the San Francisco, California, US area.

Isabel Allende had also won the following awards in the 21st Century:
