My LEO Life Now: What's Next?

The September 2021 Leomarkettalk Comment Giveaway has been in the record books for over a week, and I'm still amazed at my 4th place finish. It's one thing to post nearly a hundred comments once in a while. It's another to post nearly a hundred comments many times within one month. That pace nearly wiped out whatever Resouce Credits come with 250 HP; when October 2021 came around, my RC allotment was down to 1.68%. So I needed time to replenish my Resource Credits. During this time I was thinking about what I an do to step up my LEO game. Hence the title of this post: "My LEO Life: What's Next?"

Background

During the September 2021 Leomarkettalk Comment Giveaway, @finguru was also in the middle of a 30-in-30 challenge: 30 posts in 30 days. The timing was coincidental, so there was overlap between the two events for him. By the end of both events, "@"finguru took 1st place in the September 2021 Leomarkettalk Comment Giveaway, and he successfully completed his 30-in-30 post challenge.

He joined Hive a few months before I did, and he was doing well for himself before I joined Hive near the end of April 2021. I mention "@"finguru because for me he provides an example I can follow to kick it up a notch on Hive and at LeoFinance. During one of our exchanges at the Daily Crypto Markets Live Blog he even laid out the path he took both to boost his earnings and to contribute more to LeoFinance and to Hive.

Aside
(It's OK to do things for self-interest as long as other people can benefit from it. That's the foundation for trade and commerce, and it's the lynchpin for the free enterprise system. When others do well because of something you did, does it really matter that you gain from what you did? Self-interest is what makes win-Win-WIN situations possible.)

My Path

I won't follow his path exactly, but I can do some fundamental things to become more productive not just for myself but also for Hive and LeoFinance as a whole. This is the path I'm setting for myself:

  • Beginning with my contribution for the Guide for HBD, resume posts written for @crypto-guides;
  • Continue compiling data from Hive Engine for posts featuring Layer 2 tokens (categories, one-off tokens, a set of tokens for a tribe or project, tokens made by a person, hidden gems, whatever I can think of); then publish posts based on what I discovered;
  • Resume my series titled "People in Crypto" and port earlier posts to LeoFinance; the hard part was coming up with examples across various archetypes, and with a few in mind I have time to find others later;
  • Finish my "How Anyone Can Invest in Copper (No Brokerage Accounts Needed)" series (1 post remains, but it will require lots of research and filtering)
  • Combine my interest in spreadsheets with my LeoFinance experiences by using my (meager) wallet as the basis for examples;
  • Find some long comments, and expand them into posts;
  • Rewrite some of my pre-LeoFinance posts (better images, updated content); and
  • The occasional random post.

I should have enough content for more frequent posting for a while. If they're relevant to LeoFinance, I may even post some random photos; if not, I'll post them to Terrive or D.Buzz.

Opportunity Cost

As much as I enjoy participating in the Daily Crypto Markets Live Blog, there is no way I can maintain my pace from September without other areas of my posting and engagement suffering. As I've said before, while I won't comment there as much as I did in September 2021, I expect to comment there more than I did in August 2021. That should give me time to work on other aspects of my blogging as well as outreach efforts for myself and for Hive and LeoFinance.

Just My Two Sats

The best way to stay out of RC Jail and to avoid RC Blowout is to have plenty of Hive Power. The best way to earn Hive Power is to post regularly and often.

I need to give Hivers and Leos something to look forward to when they want to engage with new content or even older content. It's actually easier to do that if I post regularly and often; I've proven that on the comment side of engagement, so I need to carry that over to the posting side.

I thought I was safe from the threats of RC Jail and RC Blowout when I reached 250 HP; I was mistaken. It's not easy to blow through whatever Resource Credits are equivalent to 250 HP, but I almost did that (with 1.68% to spare). Averaging close to 50 comments a day for 30 days can do that. Next time my RCs drop to 1.68%, it should happen when I reach 500 HP or 1,000 HP. This means I need to step up my LEO Life so that reaching those levels of Hive Power is what's next.

Wow. Your effort is admirable. Keep up the work. Before you know it, you'll have more RCs than you can ever use.

That's the plan! What I need is a combination of clarity, discipline, and focus to go along with the effort. Along the way I'll find unexpected things which will work and discover some ideas which won't. As long as I can adjust and keep moving forward, that's what's important for me right now.

My next milestone is 500 HP. I'm expecting to reach it in February 2022, but I'll be happy to be wrong if it happens before EOY 2021.
