RE: Do you know Route 66….

While reviewing SEO performance today for the keyword "route 66" to see how the daily zapfic serial I began in March 2023 has been doing, I discovered this post. It includes a few details which are new to me, so thank you for taking time to publish your post.

The current highway system, begun in 1956, has rendered Route 66 obsolete, but much of it can be seen along Interstate 40 in Arizona and New Mexico. It's possible to still ride along the path used by Route 66, but the road itself is no more.

It's such an iconic road that it's been immortalized on screen and in sound thanks to songs and re-interpretations of that song. Even today, web sites devoted to the legendary Route 66 exist to keep the spark alive.

Since December 2023, my zapfic serial has characters taking "Route 66" in reverse to go back home at various points east. They began the trip in Santa Monica, California; currently their near Amarillo, Texas.

It's too late for me to upvote this post, so please accept these engagement tokens in place of the upvote: a slice of !PIZZA, a bit of !LUV, and some !LOLZ.
