The Industrial Economy Don't Like It Hot

Name me some of the richest or most financially stable countries in the world. You might think about Norway, Switzerland, any usual Scandinavian countries or a European country perhaps. Now name me some of the poorest and economically unstable countries in the world. The sub Saharan Africa, maybe the southern side of America. The typical asian country in also relatively less rich than the ones I actually named in the rich section.

I guess, by now should see a pattern. That is the colder countries tend to be more richer than the hotter countries. Now, yeah, there are exceptions around the world like North Korea is poor despite being cold, but that's North Korea. And there is Singapore which is a proper example of this exception. I'll get to that. First let's see what's the catch.

Now by being rich, I meant the country being well equiped in the GDP per Capita section. Studies show that the GDP per Capita differs at around 500 dollars per every degree Celsius of temperature. Now it's a written policy so it's understandable if you haven't heard it before yet. But the signs are there. A similar type of study says the nation's weather contributes to about 8-9 percent of the nation's economy. Might sound small but I'm sure you all understand that it is huge. How, you might ask.

First of all, the weather is responsible of calamities like flood or cyclones or indecent weather which can hamper all sorts of production. And a more bland reason can be a that a hotter weather tends to make people more hostile. While a colder weather keeps people calm and composed relatively. Take a while and think about it. But the point is, the weather actually plays a bigger part in a country's economy than just this because it directly plays with the human mindset. Imagine John and Dillon are two people living in London and Cairo respectively. John would want to work a tad bit harder because he needs to stockpile food, fuel and buy or build a relatively well engineered house that can keep him warm fed and cozy during the cold Winter season. When all the work is gonna stop during the snowfall John has to be ready to get through it with ease. He'd had that incentive to work round the year. While Dillon living in Cairo has no worry about stockpiling supplies because in his country there is no supposed hindrance in work life. Work goes round the year and he doesn't need a very well engineered house either because in a hotter climate you would want a house that is less complex and to allow air in and you don't need to factor the fact of it needing to keep you warm during a snowfall type cold because it does not exist. Incentive is key. The human world over the years have always needed incentives to keep themselves going. And that mindset has very well settled into those minds over the years so the people of those said places, more or less thinks the same way. And remember how I said that cold weather keeps you calm? How that helps the economy is people in higher powers are privileged to think more carefully and precisely to decide what ia good for the country or it's economy. Because they are relatively more composed than a country where the hot weather keeps everyone on edge.

Looking back multiple centuries ago, the Mayans, the mesopotamians, the Egyptian civilization, the best ones of their time were situated in hotter countries. This discards the whole propaganda I've been talking. But hang on. Thousands of years ago people relied on agriculture. You work, you grow food, feed more people, they work too, everyone grows more than they need and sell the excess. Ancient economy in a nutshell. Now where are agriculture more favorable? In hotter countries. That's why those ancient civilizations have stood up because agriculture was their backbone. And yeah the people were on edge due to the hotter weather back then too but that only helped them win more wars and expand on a compound interest. But now times have changed. Agriculture isn't at the forefront anymore. Instead it's industry. Industrial revolution has changed the economy entirely and now the nations which work harder, with an incentive of course, are thriving. Also these cold country folks being more level headed that hot country people helps them to conduct business and finance more efficiently. Now they're winning at a compound interest.

Now I did name Singapore right? This city slaps my whole theory in the face. Shenzhen too. Though China enjoys a calmer weather due to the high mountain lines of the everest mountains. But still. My belief is that these countries are the flag bearers of humans advancing ever more aggressively and steadily taking natural variables out of the equation. To establish the fact that, you get what you work for.
