Mi trabajo en el circo (ESP/ENG) TBT

Today I go back to a wonderful time in which I lived incredible experiences working in a circus that came to my city, I always wanted to work there because at that time I was interested in circus arts, so I did not hesitate and I joined the tent, yes, I did not travel with the company to distant places, I only worked while it was in my city and also when it was in two nearby cities, so I could go to work and come back home.

At the beginning I operated a small train for children that was next to the marquee, later I went on to work at the ticket office where I sold tickets for the train, and finally I went to the entrance of the marquee where I received the tickets from the public that was going to see the show. It was a great experience because it allowed me to meet people from different countries, artists from different regions of the planet, with very diverse languages and cultures, which was what I was looking for, as I have always been a hardened writer, so little by little I was gathering information to write a novel with the different stories I was collecting. Particularly I became friends with a clown whose stage name was Cáluga, he was Chilean and he told me that his life used to be sad and empty because his father mistreated him when he was a child, but he decided to become a clown and laugh at life, I also met some Russian sisters who had a magic act on stage, I could only communicate with them in English because they didn't speak Spanish, but the ones who followed me everywhere were the children (Jordi, Lupita y Sasha), because they liked to listen to the stories I told them, they were engrossed listening and when I had no more stories to tell I made up new stories for them or they simply asked me to tell them the story of the seven little goats again.

He is my friend Turi, at that time he was learning to be a master of ceremonies and juggler, he was very good and he was also being trained by Carlos Ricci, who was an eminence in that field as well as in balancing, I lost contact with him but the last I heard he was not only a juggler and master of ceremonies but also a stage manager, which represents a great prestige because he is supposed to be in charge of all the numbers that are presented on stage. We had a nice relationship, I was like his big sister and I remember his mum asking me to advise him to take his studies seriously and go to university.

I loved spending time with the tigers, I always went to see them and spend time with them in my free time, and although I never witnessed them being physically or verbally abused, I think that just having them locked up in such a small space and forced to work is a punishment they didn't deserve, They were beautiful and the ones that attracted my attention the most were the white Siberian tigers, but the night I spent in the circus I heard their melancholic roars in the early hours of the morning.

Working there was an enriching experience for me, it taught me many things, but above all to value friendship, it also left me lessons that I treasured in my memory, in my heart and later in my novel "Detrás del Telón" which I uploaded in the Literatos community and later in some chapters in audiobook format for my youtube channel.

El día de hoy me remonto a una época maravillosa en la cual viví experiencias increíbles trabajando en un circo que llegó a mi ciudad, siempre quise trabajar allí porque en esa época me llamaba la atención las artes circenses, por lo tanto no lo dudé y me uní a la carpa, eso sí, yo no viajaba con la compañía a lugares lejanos, solo trabajé mientras estuvo en mi ciudad y también cuando estuvo en dos ciudades cercanas, así que yo podía ir a trabajar y regresar a mi casa.

Al inicio yo operaba un pequeño tren para niños que estaba junto a la carpa, posteriormente pasé a trabajar en la taquilla donde vendían los boletos para el tren, y finalmente pasé a la entrada de la carpa donde yo recibía los boletos del público que iba a ver el espectáculo. Fue una experiencia grandiosa porque me permitió conocer a personas de varios países, artistas que venían de diversas regiones del planeta, con idiomas y culturas muy diversas, era lo que yo buscaba ya que siempre he sido una escritora empedernida, así que poco a poco fui recabando información para escribir una novela con las diversas historias que fui recopilando. Particularmente me hice amiga de un payaso cuyo nombre artístico era Cáluga, era chileno y me contó que su vida solía ser triste y vacía debido a que su padre lo maltrataba cuando era niño, pero decidió volverse payaso y reírse de la vida, también conocí a unas hermanas rusas que tenían un número de magia en el escenario, con ellas solo podía comunicarme en inglés porque no hablaban español, pero los que me seguían a todos lados eran los niños (Jordi, Lupita y Sasha), ya que les gustaba escuchar las historias que yo les contaba, se quedaban absortos escuchando y cuando yo ya no tenía más historias que contar inventaba historias nuevas para ellos o simplemente me pedían que les contara de nuevo la historia de los siete cabritos.

Él es mi amigo Turi, en ese entonces estaba aprendiendo a ser maestro de ceremonias y malabarista, era muy bueno y además estaba siendo entrenado por Carlos Ricci, quien era una eminencia en ese ámbito además del equilibrismo, perdí contacto con él pero lo último que supe es que además de malabaristas y maestro de ceremonias logró ser capataz de pista, lo cual representa un gran prestigio porque se supone que está a cargo de todos los números que se presentan en el escenario. Teníamos una bonita relación, yo era como su hermana mayor y recuerdo que su mamá me pedía que lo aconsejara para que tomara en serio sus estudios e ingresara a la universidad.

Yo amaba pasar tiempo con los tigres, siempre me iba a verlos y a pasar un rato con ellos en mis ratos libres, y a pesar de que nunca presencié que los maltrataran fisica o verbalmente, pienso que tan solo el hecho de tenerlos encerrados además en un espacio tan reducido y obligarlos a trabajar es un castigo que no merecían, eran hermosos y los que más llamaban mi atención eran los tigres blancos de Siberia, pero la noche que llegué a pasar en el circo llegué a escuchar sus rugidos melancólicos durante la madrugada.

Trabajar allí fue una experiencia enriquecedora para mi, me enseñó muchas cosas, pero sobre todo a valorar la amistad, me dejó además lecciones que atesoré en mi memoria, en mi corazón y más tarde en mi novela "Detrás del Telón" la cual subí en la comunidad de Literatos y más tarde algunos capítulos en formato audiolibro para mi canal de youtube.

Y bien, esto ha sido todo por hoy, como siempre esta es una actividad que disfruto mucho, gracias de todo corazón por leer mi post y acompañarme en este viaje al pasado. 😊
