My new cousin's baby shower [ESP/ENG]

Today I'm very happy to share with you a beautiful moment we experienced as a family this past weekend. Life always has its ups and downs, and just as we've all experienced losses and painful moments, we celebrate life and those moments of happiness. My cousin's wife is pregnant (almost due), so on Saturday we enjoyed a special afternoon filled with games, gifts, music, good food, and fun to celebrate the imminent arrival (God willing) of Fabritzio Daniel.
Hoy me reconforta mucho compartir con ustedes un momento hermoso que vivimos en la familia este fin de semana que acaba de pasar. La vida de las personas siempre tendrá momentos duros y momentos felices, al igual que todos nosotros hemos experimentado pérdidas y momentos que nos han marcado con dolor, pero precisamente por eso celebramos la vida y esos instantes de felicidad, la esposa de mi primo está embarazada (ya casi a término) así que el sábado disfrutamos de una tarde diferente, llena de juegos, regalos, música, buena comida y diversión para celebrar la pronta llegada (Dios mediante) de Fabritzio Daniel.
There was a pool at the place my cousin and his wife had booked for the celebration, but as you can see from the photos, it was a very cloudy day, so none of the adults felt like going in the water, at least not at that moment. I get cold very easily, haha, so I put on a trench coat instead. However, the children thoroughly enjoyed the pool regardless of the weather.
Había una piscina en el lugar que mi primo y su esposa reservaron para la celebración, pero tal como ustedes pueden comprobar debido a las fotos, el día estaba sumamente nublado, así que que a ninguno de los adultos nos apeteció entrar al agua, al menos en ese momento, yo soy muy friolenta jeje, así que más bien me puse una gabardina. Sin embargo los niños sí que disfrutaron al máximo de la piscina sin importar el clima.
The party began with photos of the parents with their family and the gift-giving. The decorations were beautiful, and the parents were very happy. Despite the bad weather, all the guests arrived without any problems because it didn't rain heavily, just a light drizzle, although it did rain later on.
La fiesta empezó con las respectivas fotos de los padres con la familia y la recepción de regalos, la decoración estaba preciosa y los padres estaban muy felices. A pesar del mal clima todos los invitados lograron llegar al lugar sin pormenores porque no llovió fuerte, sino más bien una llovizna, aunque más tarde si que llovió.
There were many fun games and two of my cousins won. One of them consisted of giving them a piece of paper with all the letters of the alphabet and they had to write a name corresponding to those letters within a certain time. Well... one of my cousins won because she has a lot of experience playing "Stop," a word game we often play here in my country (Venezuela), and she always wins because she is very quick and mentally agile.
Hubo muchos juegos divertidos y dos de mis primas ganaron, un de ellos consistía en que les dieron un papel con todas las letras del alfabeto y ellos debían escribir un nombre correspondiente a esas letras pero en un tiempo determinado y bueno... una de mis primas ganó porque ella tiene mucha experiencia jugando al "Stop" un juego de palabras que solemos hacer aquí en mi país (Venezuela) y ella siempre gana porque tiene mucha rapidez y agilidad mental.
There were also games where participants had to carry balloons using only their hips to prevent the balloon from falling to the ground. It was very funny to see all the participants' attempts to keep the balloons from falling. In the end, they had to pop the balloons with their bodies, without using their hands and much less their nails (quite a challenge 😄).
También hubo huegos donde los participantes debían llevar globos usando solamente las caderas para evitar que el globo cayera al suelo, fue muy gracioso ver todos los intentos de los participantes por evitar que se cayeran los globos, al final tenían que reventar los globos con el cuerpo, sin usar las manos y mucho menos las uñas (todo un reto 😄)
Then it was time for lunch. We were starving, so we sat down to enjoy some delicious broasted chicken with a side salad and fried arepas. It was delicious, and since I love fried chicken, I found it doubly delightful, haha. It was also a great time to relax, chat, and catch up with family and friends we hadn't seen in a while, so we made the most of that time.
Luego fue el turno de la comida, estábamos hambrientos así que nos sentamos a degustar un delicioso pollo a la broaster con contorno de ensalada y arepitas fritas, estaba delicioso, y además yo amo el pollo frito, así que lo encontré doblemente exquisito jeje. Por otra parte fue el momento de relajación para conversar y ponernos al día con aquellos familiares y amigos a los que no veíamos desde hace tiempo, así que aprovechamos muy bien todo ese tiempo.
I also took the opportunity to take lots of pictures; there I am with my mom @carmen1659 and with her only brother, my beloved uncle Domingo, whom we all affectionately call "Dominguito" or simply "Mingo"
También aproveché de tomara muchísimas fotografías, allí estoy con mi mami @carmen1659 y con su único hermano, mi amado tío Domingo, a quien todos llamamos por cariño "Dominguito" o simplemente "Mingo"
Then the games started again, and those of us who weren't playing joined in, cheering and laughing. There were so many funny stories, like attempts at cheating that were caught red-handed, and so on. We couldn't stop laughing because every now and then someone would say something really funny. On another note, I found it interesting to see how people's attitudes can change depending on the environment they're in. Most of the guests were my cousin's coworkers (almost all teachers). He's their boss because he's the principal of the school where they all work, and in that setting, they're usually very formal, but at the party, they let themselves be spontaneous.
Luego volvieron los juegos y nosotros, (los que no participamos en los juegos) nos dedicamos a apoyar y a reírnos porque hubo muchas anécdotas graciosas como conatos de trampas que fueron descubiertas infraganti etc... Nosotros no parábamos de reír porque además de vez en cuando alguien decía algo muy gracioso. Por otra parte me pareció interesante ver como puede cambiar la actitud de la gente dependiendo del entorno en el que esté, ya que la mayoría de los invitados son compañeros de trabajo de mi primo (casi todos docentes) él es su jefe porque es el director del colegio en el que trabajan todos ellos, y en ese entorno suelen ser obviamente muy formales, pero en la fiesta se permitieron ser espontáneos.
In the mid-afternoon they served a delicious rib soup that was perfect for us; it was hot but very tasty.
A media tarde sirvieron una deliciosa sopa de costilla que nos vino de maravilla, estaba caliente pero muy rica.
My uncle Dominguito is one of the best dancers in the family, so there he was dancing salsa (his absolute favorite genre) with one of my aunts, and afterwards both he and other relatives went to get in the pool (I don't understand how they had the courage to go in there at night when the temperature dropped even more)
Mi tío Dominguito es uno de los mejores bailarines de la familia, así que allá estaba bailando salsa (su género favorito por excelencia) con una de mis tías, y después tanto él como otros de mis familiares fueron a meterse en la piscina (no entiendo como tuvieron el valor para entrar allí en la noche cuando la temperatura descendió aún más )
We enjoyed ourselves a lot, although by night I wanted to go home because I was very tired and I had to wait for my cousin to pick us up and take us home (we waited a long time because he was busy taking several guests to their houses) but I really left very satisfied to have spent quality time with my family, and to have celebrated that new life that is on the way.
Disfrutamos mucho aunque en la noche ya yo quería regresar a casa porque estaba muy cansada y tuve que esperar a que mi primo fuese a buscarnos para llevarnos a nuestra casa (Esperamos mucho tiempo porque él se dedicó a llevar a varios invitados hasta su casas casas) pero realmente me fui muy satisfecha de haber pasado tiempo de calidad con mi familia, y de haber celebrado esa nueva vida que viene en camino.
