Mi entrada al concurso Observa esta imagen, piensa y escribe.

Hello community of @TopFiveFamily, today I'm joining you to participate in the Observe, Think, Write Contest.

I think there will be some Venezuelans who will identify with me with this post, and you'll know what I'm getting at with this. We learned to solve in times of need and find a way to solve how to move forward. Well, yes, how can we forget the dark times when we literally had no power for a full week.

I remember that due to the power failure and also the gas shortage, my brothers and I had to find a way to cook our food. So we had no choice but to look for charcoal to be able to make a kind of fire or grill in the garden of the house and thus be able to eat.

The advantage in our case was that we had a large patio where we could grill without the smoke disturbing the other neighbors and in addition to that we could collect twigs from the trees we had in the garden. But then we had to go out to the nearby places to get firewood.

But I must admit that it was not easy to light the stove, we were not used to that and sometimes we did not have the possibility of getting the charcoal and sometimes it took us hours to do that until we finally managed to cook and we took advantage of cooking as much as we could to have dinner made. The bad thing is that we didn't have a place to store food until the next day, since without light the refrigerator didn't work. So we only cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner for the day.

Anyway, we managed to survive not only that week of payment, but the entire time we lived there, since the electrical failures continued and the gas leaks were still going on. It was a difficult time, but we adapted to the drastic changes that were taking place in the country. I truly admire all Venezuelans who, like me, have managed to move forward despite the difficulties we face.

And this was my participation for this week, it brought back a lot of good and bad memories of those times.

Creo que habrán algunos venezolanos que se identificarán conmigo con este post, y ya sabrán a lo que voy con esto. Nosotros aprendimos a solventar en tiempos de necesidad y buscar la forma de resolver como seguir adelante. Pues si, como olvidar los tiempos oscuros que literalmente no tuvimos servicio eléctrico por una semana completa.

Recuerdo que debido a la falla eléctrica y por también la escases de gas mis hermanos y yo tuvimos que buscar la manera de como cocinar nuestros alimentos. Así que no tuvimos otra opción que buscar madrea o carbón para poder realizar una especie de fogón o parrilla en el jardín de la casa y así poder comer.

La ventaja en nuestro caso era que teníamos un gran patio donde poder hacer la parrilla sin que el humo molestara a los demás vecinos y además de eso podíamos recoger ramitas de los árboles que teníamos en el jardín. Pero después debíamos salir a los lugares cercanos a buscar lena.

Pero debo admitir que no era nada fácil encender el fogón, nosotros no estábamos a acostumbrados a eso y a veces no teníamos la posibilidad de conseguir el carbón y pues a veces tardábamos horas en eso hasta que por fin lo lográbamos y podíamos cocinar y aprovechábamos de cocinar todo lo que se pudiera para tener la cena hecha. Lo malo es que no teníamos donde conservar los alimentos hasta el día siguiente, ya que sin luz el refrigerador no funcionaba. Así que solo cocinábamos el desayuno, almuerzo y cena del día.

En fin, logramos sobrevivir no solo esa semana de pagaron, sino todo el tiempo que vivimos allá, ya que las fallas eléctricas continuaron y la escaches de gas aún seguía. Fueron tiempos difíciles, pero nos fuimos adaptando con los cambios drásticos que ocurrían en el país. En verdad admiro a todos los venezolanos que como yo hemos logrado salir adelante a pesar de las dificultades que se nos presenten.

Y esta fue mi participación por esta semana, me trajo muchos buenos y malos recuerdos de esos tiempos.
