The Feng Shui of Aroma: A Renewal of the Self

Today I decided that my soul needed a complete renewal, and as a coffee lover, through my ritual I connected with my Feng Shui to renew my spirit.

I tell you, that after a week without tasting a drop of coffee, due to my headaches, yesterday I went out shopping and Eureka, I came across Café Fama de America, I told myself you must buy it, you have to try it, I had a long time without trying this brand. Although I remember with nostalgia that slogan that said that Fama de America was “the best coffee”, but I confess that since 2012 and 2013, most brands lost their essence; they focused more on producing to sell than to please the public with quality. However, when I tasted their coffee today I still find it pleasant, and I allowed its aroma to be the protagonist of my space.

In my kitchen the preparation of the coffee was like a balance of Yin and Yang, as it naturally made its presence felt when pouring two cups. For me, the coffee had to be strong, dark, an injection of Yang energy that connects me to my strength and my craft of writing. For José, a guayoyo, because he does not like intense coffee; it is that Yin softness that prefers the subtle caress to the energy blow, just two polarities and the same harmony.

I like pure coffee, and that first brew was to activate the Chi throughout my home. The rising steam, charged with that penetrating smell, was the first ambassador of pleasure that invaded my senses and I could savor a smell so pleasant that it penetrated my whole being. As I took my first sip, I felt a burst of gratitude. It was a sensation of pure pleasure, the return of the fire element to my inner vitality after a week of waiting, it was a balm that warmed my spirit and enlivened my soul.

I confess that we Orientals are made of good stock, we have it in our blood to drink strong coffee (hahaha). I also carry in my blood the heritage of Grandma Katty, for us in the family, coffee is not just a drink, it is a family tradition that orders the heart, connects us and renews our being from the root.

Just holding the hot cup in my hands, I feel that this thread of tradition is what really renews my being, making a connection with my Feng Shui, allowing this sacred aroma to cleanse my inner self, lift my spirits and bring me back to my center. Today, coffee was once again the protagonist of my own peace.
