About my favorite-forever camera. - Sobre minha câmera preferida-para-sempre.
I'm a big fan of Photography in general, but, just to fit my "all-analog-soul", I must say that doing analog photography has taken me to heaven in a way that digital photography never could, and I fell in love with it from the very start(and, must say, I'm not even that good at it).
Okay, but the subject here is not my photography passion(kind of, actually), but, specifically, this one camera I have, a Rolleicord:
About TLRs:
A Twin-lens reflex camera(TLR) is this one type of camera that has two objective lens in the frontpart. Both of the lenses have the same focal length, but one of them is the taking lens, the one that takes the picture and the other one is part of the viewfinder system to this kind of camera.
The viewfinder has a 45° mirror, a focusing screen at the top of the camera and a pop-up hood around it.

The Rolleicord and the Rolleiflex:
So, maybe you know this story from around the internet or you've watched the documentary "Finding Vivian Maier"(2013)(If you have never heard of it and did not watch the documentary, I recommend it). If so, you're probably noticing that the camera Vivian Maier had was a Twin-lens reflex camera, just like mine.
Actually, the camera Vivian Maier used to take most of her pictures was a Rolleiflex, a different model of TLR, also made by Franke & Heidecke.
What are the differences between the Rolleiflex and the Rolleicord? Well, you can say that the Rolleicord is basically a simpler and cheaper version of the Rolleiflex, it came after the Rolleiflex and was invented for the humbler costumer, who wanted to have the same quality but could not afford the expensive price of the Rolleiflex.
The film:
Most of the TLRs out there use 120 format film, but this is only for practical purposes and there are some examples of TLRs that use different formats, some use 620 film, some use 127 film and some even use 35mm film. In 2015, MiNt Camera released the Instantflex TL70, which is basically a kind of TLR Polaroid and uses the classic Fuji Instax film.

Sobre câmeras reflex de objetivas gêmeas:
Uma câmera reflex de objetivas gêmeas é esse tipo de câmera que tem duas lentes objetivas na parte da frente. Ambas essas lentes têm a mesma distância focal, mas uma é a lente que realmente tira a foto, enquanto a outra é parte do sistema do visor da câmera. Esse tipo de sistema de visor tem um espelho de 45°, uma tela de foco na parte de cima da câmera e uma capa protetora que pode ser aberta em cima.

Então, talvez você conheça essa história pela internet ou tenha assistido ao documentário "A Fotografia Oculta de Vivian Maier"(2013)(Se você nunca ouviu falar e nunca viu o documentário, eu recomendo, inclusive). Se sim, você provavelmente está notando que a câmera que a Vivian Maier tinha era uma dessas reflex de objetivas gêmeas, assim como a minha.
Na verdade, a câmera que a Vivian usou para tirar a grande maioria das suas fotos era uma Rolleiflex, um modelo diferente de câmera reflex de objetivas gêmeas, também fabricada pela Franke e Heidecke. Quais são as diferenças entre a Rolleiflex e a Rolleicord? Bem, pode-se dizer que a Rolleicord é basicamente uma versão mais simples e mais barata da Rolleiflex, ela veio depois da Rolleiflex e foi inventada para os compradores mais humildes, que desejavam a mesma qualidade mas não podiam pagar o preço caro de uma Rolleiflex.
O Filme:
A grande maioria das câmeras desse tipo usam filme 120, mas isso ocorre apenas por motivos práticos e existem alguns exemplos de câmeras reflex de objetivas gêmeas que usam formatos diferentes, algumas usam filme 620, filme 127 e algumas até mesmo usam filmes de 35mm. Em 2015, a MiNT Camera lançou um modelo chamado Instantlex TL70, que é basicamente um tipo de Polaroid reflex de objetivas gêmeas, que usa o Fuji Instax clássico.
