MYSTERY BEHIND THE CREATION OF DRONES AND WHY THEY ARE NEEDED

In recent times we have been hearing about drones but don't know how they came about and the mystery that surrounds them, some people just know them as a toy or a gadget that is used to take pictures or do a short video which is quite true but there is more usefulness to it and more application of drone that is far greater than what people know. Today we will be discussing what brought about the creation and the usefulness in general.

What are Drones? Drones are gadgets or inventions that are reffered to as UAVs (Unmanned Aerial vehicles) which perform various tasks from simple to more difficult or dangerous task, they are used in delivering items to people's doorstep, take pictures and surveillance of an area they are also used to fight war and rescue people in danger most times.

The term Unmanned simply means that the person who controls the drone isn't usually present in it so any aerial vehicle which doesn't have it's pilot in it is referred to as a drone.

The earliest and first drone in history was used by the Austrian soldiers in 1839 to attack Venice by filling the balloons which are unmanned with explosives, the balloons had some effect on the opponent but also it killed some of 5he Austrian soldiers so the method wasn't adopted by all.

After this event the Wright brothers created their winged aircraft in 1900 and this was what brought a revolution to both pilot and pilotless vehicles. After 16 years the Britains developed the first unmanned winged aircraft which was designed by Nikola Tesla and was controlled with radio control.

England was to use the vehicle to fight with the Germans but after the prototype launch failed severally, the British army scrapped the project and felt it wasn't useful for military task. An American alternative was developed a year later after there was several test which was impressive, then there was a mass production of the vehicle.

As time goes on the UAV began to see improvement especially in world war II towards the cold war although they were seen as an expensive and unreliable vehicle, during the cold war the US and the USSR both spied on each other using the UAV.

The warfare of drones started fully in 1982 when the Israelites used a technique of the UAVs and the manned aircraft to wipe away the Syrian fleet with little loss. The Israelites didn't use anything new guy they discovered how to make use of the drone in a way that the koertaun would be successful by using the drone to jam the opponent communications and to act as fake aircrafts to prevent the lives of their pilots.

After this then came a significant change where the US then spent about 10 million dollars on the creation of drone in 1984.
The drones used in the military are used to get surveillance of the enemy by checking their positions and map their area and also it is used to take pictures of a particular location as well.

That's about the history of the military drone now let's buzz into the history of the commercial drone that we are quite familiar with.

The use of the commercial drones started fully in 2006 by the government as a way to check their border surveillance, track wildfire fighting, disaster relief also did the private companies also used drones to monitor their pipelines and to spray insecticide on their farms.

The improvement of the military UAVs also brought about the improvement in the commercial sector. The use of the drones which we know now actually started not too long but has grown widely very fast, the Federal aviation administration wanted to confirm the commercial drones were safe and doesn't have any implications on the security of the country and also apply regulatory measures. In 2013, Jeff Bezos the CEO of Amazon said the drones would be considered to be used for delivery which spike the interest of the public.

As of today a Chinese company is considering using drones for taco services and has a quadcopter built to carry passengers and drones that will begin to operate indoors has been developed as well.

PROS AND CONS OF DRONES

PROS
  1. One of the benefits of the drone is that it has added greatly to the entertainment industry as it allows for taking of shots that are usually Beautiful and couldn't be taken manually and also allows for taking pictures from angles that covers more grounds. It also helps amateur photographer to seem more like proffessionals.
  1. It is easier to buy drones than buying manned airplanes as it cost less and it's maintenance is also cost efficient.
  1. Drones help go get access to places that seems impossible to get to or that are deemed dangerous to go to and so help you gain more grounds and information about those places.
  1. Drones can help to improve the efficcienct of businesses such as Helo in delivery, the use of the drones to take pictures for those who are into real estates to take pictures of construction sites and more without having to move around the sites.
CONS
  1. Not everyone is technological inclined so not everyone might be able to control and make use of a drone

  2. Alot of people don't like the sight of drones especially when it comes close to them they usuly feel insecured and this is one of its disadvantages. Alot of reports has been filed that drones has been shot down by people.

  3. Drones are quiet still undergoing development and which can pose danger to people and cause injuries as well as they usually suddenly go off, or loose signals due to change in weather and there are bird attacks too most times which can actually cause the drone to fall on people's head or fall in front of a moving vehicle which can cause injury and accidents.

  4. There is a threat to privacy since there is no regulations as it is seen as just a tool but can be used to take pictures that can lead to blackmailing of individuals and since no one knows who is flying the drones it might be an enemy trying to track ones movement and knowing the right time to attack

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, drone is here to stay and it will keep having new innovations and become better as the years goes by. It started as unmanned balloons and has evolved to what we see today, it will be quite better as new technologies begin to be developed, it will always remain relevant to commercial sector, military sector and the government sectors.
