WE83 post Topic: MY FIRST PET CALLED RIO

Pets are animals which are usually kept as a companion, these animals varies from dogs to cat to horse to anything that can keep one companion if a lion is kept as a companion then it becomes a pet (just a joke).

Also pet is also anything or anyone that is excessively loyal to one or it's superior. So in a nutshell a pet is an animal or anything or anyone which is ine's companion and will remain loyal to the person forever no matter what happens.

Pets has begin to be related to as humans in recent days and some begin to wish they are humans and treat them as such, some pets are treated as children and the owner parents making them do what they normally do to children to them by celebrating their birthdays, taking them for check up in the hospital and also buy them things.

Actually pets are cool to have and are more like a blessing to anyone who themz the love they have for their owner is unconditional and true, giving their all without asking for anything in return (well they can't talk certainly). Like I said earlier people prefer not to refer to their pets as just pet they call them friends, children or bestie and this is more like it as pets needs this kind of treatment as they mean to harm to us anyways.

Right from when we were Young Dogs are usually reffered to as Man's best friend and a very faithful buddy, it is the most common kind of pets which is found with alot of people, among 10 people with pet about 8 of them own dogs and this can't be far fetched as my first pet is also a dog.
RIO

Rio is my first pet dog which is 2 months + old, I got him in late November 2021 and still with him till now. He is an Eskimo breed (Eskimos or Eskies are usually called the dog beautiful by their admirers, they are usually white coat with very sweet expressions and black eyes, a member of the Spitz family a Nordic dog breed.

They are very lovely and active usually a dog that can be truly referred to as companions as they love to entertain and be a part of every family activity, they are outgoing although usually reserved when there are strangers around but very friendly when they are with family and friends, they are small dogs who doesn't weigh much but they do have an attitude of big dogs).

I got attracted to Rio the first day I saw him as a puppy, he was a week old and I couldn't help but admire it's calmness and it's cute look amongst other puppy, I instantly asked for his price and told the seller not to sell to anyone else because I will be coming back for it the following week, alas I got him the following week and took him home which was the begining of a great adventure and the begining of having a dog as a companion.

The first few weeks when I took Rio home he wasn't too comfortable and didn't really exhibit it's potentials as he kept to himself. He doesn't eat when I serve him his food and I got so worried about him. So I had to take him to a veterinary Doctor who gave him some injections and told me he will be better. After some days he started becoming more friendly and accommodating.

Rio is a good dog who got so attached to me that he doesn't get to eat when I am not eating and prefers to eat most of what I eat, when I serve it it's own food he keeps staring at me until I get my food before he starts eating as well, training RIO was quite easy as he was easy to teach.

At first he poos almost anywhere in the house which got me infuriated, then I started a routine which helped him alot, I take him outside and keep saying poo and wee and he started getting used to it and also in the afternoon and at night before going to bed. He adapted to this, whenever he feels pressed he'd walk towards the door and keep nudging at it then I will take it outside for a walk and he will poo and pee, he became a very understanding dog.

When he is hungry he also goes to his plate or sometimes keep staring at his plate which means he his hungry. I was able to teach him some human language like come, go, sit down, stand up which he understands perfectly well now.

Rio is a very friendly and happy dog as he loves music because I do play music alot and whenever I play some musics and dance he also express his happiness by jumping around like he is intoxicated, his sights gives joy and make me forget about my worries for some moment, he became a companion as I sometimes say all the burden in my heart out to him as though he understands but it actually makes me feel better because he sits and looks at my face like he understands me and gives me a sympathizing look which amuses me most times.

As he began to grow, he learnt a lot of things and began to adapt to new situations, he is also my protector sometimes as he is always defensive when strangers comes around and want to touch some things in my home.

A hilarious experience was when I wanted to bath him the first time I brought him home, RIO ran away and was scared, I had to forcefully give him a bath but gradually he got used to it and this keeps his white color intact and keeps him shining, everyone who has met RIO are always happy to meet him as he his so friendly after getting used to a person.

Rio made me more compassionate towards pets and made me see that they are more like Humans as well as they show love and feel concerned about our well being as well.
Rio is a good companion and I am lucky to have him, as there is a prediction that Eskies live up to 12 years I really hope my RIO lives up to that and be with me for a long time.
