What's up Splinter Addicts!

This your fellow warrior mango-juice with another Splinterlands share your battle weakly challenge post!

Well, it's really comforting to acknowledge that the world is slowly recovering itself from the COVID-19 pandemic and coming back to its normal state. In here also, both the state government and private road transportation services have resumed their services. The local train service has no yet restarted but they have announced it will resume very soon.

Meanwhile, I am still my enjoying my last couple of days at home but soon I will have to join my office in the city. I am glad that we have survived the pandemic. There are still some red areas in our state but the state government is trying their best to get the situation in control.

During these lockdown days, I invested a lot of my time into Splinterlands and played uncountable matches from different accounts. I also joined the Splinterlands writing contests which I liked very much and I will try my best to continue writing SL related stuffs on hive and twitter.

Talking about writing posts, most of you know about the Splinterlands share your battle weakly challenge post that comes every week with a new theme to play with and share the feelings.

This week we have a new monster as well. Don't go by his size as he is tougher than he appears. His great hammer may be used for repair, but sometimes it can bring hell on you. Let me introduce you to the spectacular ARMORSMITH.

This young lad is the best blacksmith alive in Khymeria and he is popular for his blazing fast repairing ability. When it comes to protecting your front defence armour, no one can beat Armorsmith. Armorsmith has no formal fighting skill and it is mostly used for defensive decks. But in melee mayhem or super sneak matches, he can bring devastating melee attacks on enemy monsters.

Add heading 3.png

  • Level 1 from its initial level, it carries the Repair ability so unlike most monsters, you may find it useful. It carries 1 melee attack with 2 health, 2 speed and 0 armor.

  • Level 6 At level 6, it possesses 2 melee attack with 3 health, 3 speed and 0 armor. From level 6 it carries 2 melee attack so it may become your best buddy in small mana melee mayhem or supersneak matches.

  • Level 10 Level 10 is maxed level as this is a common card. At level 10 is carries 3 melee attack at 4 health, 4 speed and 0 armor. With 3 melee attack power and Repair ability, it is considered to be a very strong catalyst in your deck.

Abilities

Repair

With this ability, a monster can restore a portion of the armor of any friendly monster that has the most damaged armor. Not only the front position, but it can restore armor of monsters sitting at any position in the line-up.

Personally, I think Armorsmith is a good choice in mini mana matches because of its 2 mana cost. I use him often whenever I chose life splinter. Thee best way to use him is to place him at anywhere in middle or at last (depending on the ruleset) with a heavy shield carrying monster at front. When you use Tyrus Palladium, by default you get a layer of the shield on all the friendly monsters but when you are playing with dragon summoners with life splinter, make sure to have at least one or 2 shield carrying monsters in our line up so that you won't miss the chance to use his repairability.

Let us now quickly take a peak at the For Sale tab of Armorsmith for his current price.

As you can see from above, the single BCX Armorsmith will cost you 0.03$. There are a couple of bulk BCX available on sale so if in need, be sure to buy them ASAP!

I will use my own account @mango-juice today to play with Armorsmith as I am holding a level 9 currently. Let us now search for a suitable battle to use the Armorsmith.

Ruleset Of Battle

image.png

  • Ruleset So, It was a Fog of War ( all monsters lose sneak and snipe abilities ) + Lost Legendaries ( Legendary monsters cannot be used in this battle). It's a micro mana match and I shall go for a Life deck with Silvershield Paladin at front.
  • Mana count This micro mana match holds a 14 mana cap!

  • Summoners This battle supports Earth, Life, Death and Dragon summoners.

At this much mana cap, after using the summoner and the Armorsmith card, I will be left with only 9 mana in hand but I have to make sure that I utilize it properly to fill at least 5 to 6 places with good monsters.

Line-Up

image.png

SILVERSHIELD PALADIN

I chose Silvershield paladin in the first place so that it would consume a few good attacks from my opponent and also damage them back with the reflect ability. I have a level 7 Paladin at it has 3 melee attack at 3 speed with 4 armor and 8 health. It also possesses 2 abilities, Shield (take reduced damage from melee and ranged attacks) and Magic Reflect (Reflects a portion of magic back to the attacker and damage him).

image.png

Furious Chicken

As usual, I chose Furious Chicken in the second place so that it would consume one of my enemy attacks. Moreover, using gold foil chicken always gives you +10% DEC bonus ;)

image.png

SILVERSHIELD BARD

I have recently upgraded my Bard to level 6 and at 1 mana cost, this monster offers me 2 abilities with a decent melee attack power. It holds 2 abilities at level 6, Cleanse (removes all negative effects from the friendly monster at the first place) and Swiftness (gives +1 speed to all friendly monsters).

image.png

DIVINE HEALER

I chose Divine healer in the fourth position. I am just trying to make my Paladin Immortal with the help of both Healer and Armorsmith. I have a level 6 Divine Healer which possess 1 magic attack at 1 speed and 4 health. It also carries 2 abilities, Tank Heal (Restores a portion of health to the friendly monster in the first position) and Slow (all enemy monsters get -1 speed).

image.png

ARMORSMITH

I chose Armorsmith at the last place of my line up. I think at this much low mana cap on top of Fog of War ruleset, it is the best place for him.

Battle Result

Despite of playing SL for over years now, I still find it unpredictable often to guess the opponent's move in micro mana matches, especially when more than 3 summoners are allowed to use. But for this one, the ruleset was the fog of war so sneak and snipers can't be used so I focus myself defending the front. With the help of Divine Healer and Armorsmith, I won this battle easily without breaking a sweat and I admit that my monsters have performed beyond my expectation this time.

My opponent also used the Life summoner and he has a max Tyrus when I only have a level 7! At the first place, he chose a max Tyrus paladin, followed by a lev 3 chicken, a max Peacebringer and a max Silvershield Archers at the last position.

The opponent's monsters were mostly maxed out and started doing large damages on my Paladin. For the fog of war ruleset, his silvershield archers lost sniper ability and started attacking my Paladin but for his Shield ability, the archers were unable to do any damage.

My Divine Healer and Armorsmith started their work and kept my Paladin alive till the last round. My healer got dead in between for getting continuous magic reflect damages from the enemy paladin but my Armorsmith stands still with my paladin and restored his armor every round.

  • My Divine Healer was the first in the battle to lose her life at 4th round but before dying she manages to damage the opponent's paladin a lot leaving him only 3 health.
  • At the sixth round, my paladin launched a successful attack and killed the enemy paladin.
  • The remaining monsters of the opponent were the chicken, Peacebringer and the archers who were helpless after losing their paladin and got dead one by one with the help of my Paladin.

It was quite a great match and I enjoyed the battle very much. If I would have used small mana monster at the front, no doubt I would have lost against his Max Paladin and Peacebringer. I am not a brave player when it comes to playing with Life decks but thanks to God I luckily win this one.

Nice Battle Mango. I love using Armorsmith. He can certainly make difference.

Ya know? Lately, I've quite enjoyed the strategy behind micro mana matches. Of course, it's super fun to get HUGE mana matches... but it's a different kind of fun.

Will micro mana matches you TRULY don't know what you're going to get. Even for me, I sometimes go nuts with ONE tank... and the chicken... While other times I fill the lineup with tiny hitters from every position... AND I DESTROY!!

And yes! The Armorsmith is practically always used... 2 mana?? Why not?

You are absolutely right carrie! For 2 mana its my 2nd best card after coctrice. From level 9 he possesses 3 melee attack which is a nice bonus with repair ability.

Stay well and keep hustling! 😎🤘

:fact:
Too bad that battle link not working for me. Link is with "id=undefined". So I went through the battle by heart, as I was interested to see how smithy was doing.
:thought:
Together with slow healer, he is giving your team a weakness when being faster than all opponent's monsters, meaning 1st round is crucial for your team in that case. I am not with high level cards so I can only guess in low mana battle there is no danger that opponent bring down your tank in 1st position in 1st round.

That is giving me idea that maybe using swiftness for team with smithy could not work well every time. So smithy might be an option only for low mana battles.
Cheers!
