The shield ability is one of the Oldest abilities in Splinterlands that got introduced with the alpha cards back in 2018. With the alpha and beta edition, we got a couple of monsters with shield ability and most of them were very reliable and a strong defence Into our lineup. Most of you love or fear lord of darkness from the death unit or the stone golem from the earth unit which are special for their shield abilities and the list goes long. even with the new edition, though they have introduced some new abilities like recharge giant killer Or scattershots, they haven’t forget the old Abilities as well. As a result, we are seeing more furious and deadly hybrid monsters mixed with abilities both from the previous editions and new ones. So, in today’s post, I will showcase you three shield monsters that will help you in you splinterlands journey by giving you an extra layer of protection wherever you choose them along with you in the battlefield.

CRYPT BEETLE

The first monster that I will be showcasing to you is crypt Beetle. Well, we already had some Beatles with us but this one seems different. crypt beetle is a common type monsters with attack type as Melee and it belongs to the death unit. it only costs three mana to use in battles and that’s a rare thing to see because you don’t Generally see many Shield ability monsters at three mana cost. let us now look into this card thoroughly to see what it has to offer us in the battlefield.

• At its initial level, it possesses 1 melee attack at one speed with one shield and two health along with the shield ability. since its initial level, not only it gets the shield ability but also it carries one physical shield with it which saves him Further from melee and ranged attacks. even one physical shield with shield ability can Protect you for long in mini mana limit matches where most of the enemy cards will have only one or two attack power.

• At level five, the Melee Attack gets increased to 2 along with two speed, two shield and three health. at this level, it gets even more defensive and it will take a good number of attacks or multiple big attacks to kill it down completely, thanks to its physical shield plus shield ability combo.

• At max level, the melee attack gets further increased to 3 with two speed, four shield and five health along with the shield ability. without a doubt, at max level, it Becomes an overpower entity for just three mana cost. If the opponent isn’t using magic cards, He will definitely find it hard to kill this guy while you will be busy to take out Your opponents monsters one after another.

ANTOID PLATOON

The next monster that I’ll be showing you all is Antoid platoon. Android platoon is a gang of ant monsters and it’s a common type card it attack type Melee which belongs to the fire unit. it costs four mana to use this card in battle. so it will be a great card for both mini and medium mana ruleset matches. let us now dig down Deep into this monster and find out what’s so special about them.

• At its first level, it carries 1 melee attack at one speed with two shield and three health along with the shield ability. Despite having the medium four Mana cost, both the physical shield and the shield ability is making this card very hard to kill down via Melee and arrange monsters Even at its earlier levels.

• At level, 4 the melee attack gets increased to 2 with two speed, one shield and four health. Though the shield gets decreased by one at this level, the increase in melee attack equals that up and also make this monster a Good attacker as well.

• At level six, it gets another ability scavengers thus increasing the overall value of this card. Monsters with scavengers ability gains one max health each time any monster dies. So over time, as monsters get died on both sides, this monster will add one Health each time dose turning itself into even a bigger defense.

• At max level, and this monster gets 3 melee attack with two speed three shield and five field along with those two abilities I mentioned above.

Overall this monster can be a great example of defense in mini or medium manner and send matches and also can be a good pick in little Leagues ruleset.

MYCELIC INFANTRY

The last monster that I will be showcasing to you all is none other than Mycelic infantry. This monster recently got more attraction due to the lore that just got released in the Splinterlands post. This living thing looks more like an alien then a monster to me. It is a rare type monster who’s attack type is Melee and it belongs to the earth unit. It costs eight Mana to use in the battlefield. now, let’s look into its stats to get a better understanding about this monster.

• At its initial level, it possesses 3 melee attack at one speed, three armour and seven Health along with the shield ability. Respecting the mana cost, no doubts that it is lagging on speed having only one speed up to its max level. But, in reverse speed Ruleset, This monster maybe come on stoppable against enemies.

• If you make this card to level four, it will Possesses four Mrlee attack at one speed, three shield and nine health along with a shield ability the health get increased by two and the attack also get increased by one making it more powerful even in its early levels.

• At level five, this monster gets another ability giant killer. monsters with giant killer ability does double damage against targets that cost in or more Mana. So this monster can be very useful against those giant attackers which costs Ten mana or more and there are several chaos monsters that cost 10 or more. So definitely, in big Mana limit matches (specially 99 Mana match) this monster can be very useful to kill down those Giants.

• At its max level, this card holders five Melee attack at one speed, three shield and ten health and it also acquired another ability enrage. monster with enrage ability has increased Melee attack and speed when damaged. So, at max level this monster gets even more furious due to the enrage ability and I can’t even imagine when this monster attacks a 10 Or more mana cost monster While it’s already being damaged and enraged. A total chaos will be there and I can feel it.
