Top 3 Riftwatchers legendary cards that everybody should have

Hello my fellow hivers!

I hope all of you a happy day ahead and hope you all are enjoying playing splinterlands. Well, We have already spent 6 days and only 10 days left for this current season to end. As I told in my previous post, to repair my continuous bad ECR, I will play less matches for today.

As you can see below, I have only collected 3 focus chests for today with the Life cards ruleset and my ECR is currently recharging at 60%. Gladly by The time I start playing again tomorrow, it will reach at least above 80% and thus, I will be getting more RP (Reward Points) for both daily focus and season rewards. On the other hand, I have collected 15 Season Reward Chests so far and still battling in D2. But I have bought another very important Riftwatchers card and added to my playing deck which I will share in my next post.

Riftwatchers

As time going forward, I am facing more and more cards from the New Riftwatchers set and especially in high mana limit matches, it is becoming very complex to win against them. As an old players, I certainly know that there’s not much time left when most of the dedicated players buy their favourable Rift cards and for those who doesn't own them won’t have a sustainable win rate. So, over time I have to buy and collect them as soon as possible and I have started working on that and bought 2 rift cards already.

As we have already got encountered with this all new Rift era, today I spent some time in the market looking into and knowing more about them. So in todays post, I will showcasing the top 3 Legendary Riftwatchers cards ranked by me.

There are total 7 legendary cards that got released with the base Riftwatchers card set and among them, 5 monsters cost 11 or more mana to be used in battlefield and rest 2 are also high (7 and 9 mana). There are one legendary card from each splinter and 2 of them even hold dual attacks (either magic + melee or magic + range) . Let us now rake a deeper look into my top 3 among them and also look into their stats and abilities at below.

MORDEUS

The first monster that I choose isthe Mordeus. It is a melee attacking style monster with opportunity ability that belongs to the Fire Splinter. This amazing Rift monster costs 7 mana to be used in battlefield and already gaining popularity for it’s unmatched melee attack power. Let us now look into it’s stats and abilities tier wise.

Bronze

Even level 1, this monster possesses a huge 5 melee attack power at 2 speed with 4 health and it also gets the opportunity ability from it’s initial level. Thou this monster has a gigantic amount of attack power respecting its level, because of it’s weak health and speed, you need to use this monster carefully.

Silver

At level 2, this monster increases it’s melee attack power further to 6 while having the same speed and health as of it’s previous level. It also doesn’t get any new abilities at silver level but the increased attack power will give you enough fire power to bring mayhem into the battlefield.

Gold

At the later stage, this monster stays at 6 melee attack with 2 speed and 4 health but gets another ability Stun which certainly increases its value when using in Gold tier matches. Due to Stun, it will now have a chance to apply stun to the lowest health enemy when attacking, making the enemy to skip its next turn if applied.

Diamond / Champ

At the max level, this monster increases its melee attack further to 7 while still staying at 2 speed with 4 health and also gets another ability - Piercing. No doubt after it gets this last ability, it can now even kill down shielded monsters with its deadly blow.

My remark:

Adding this new opportunity monster with massive attack power in Fire realm certainly opens up more unique gameplay strategies. I like it’s Stun + piercing combo as well which will disable the enemy and also wound more to those monsters with armour. But it’s very low speed and weak health also makes it an easy target and vulnerable.

AGOR LONGTAIL

Now, for the second monster, I choose none other than the mighty AGOR LONGTAIL and if you have already using or encountering this monster, you know why I have chosen this monster. This monster belongs to the Dragon Unit and like most other dragons, it also has the Flying ability. But the thing that I like the most about this monster is that it’s huge armour + health combo which comes with Void ability, Taunt and heal. It costs a huge 15 mana to be used in battles and it has a dual attack type (magic + melee). Now let us look further into it tier wise at below.

Bronze

At level 1, this monster gets 3 melee attack and 2 magic attack at 3 speed with 6 armour and 11 health and also gets 3 abilities in it’s initial level - Flying, Taunt and Void. The huge definition surely justifies it’s huge mana cost as while it will attack double, it will also evade many the attacks with Flying while attracting them all with taunt.

Silver

At level 2, this monster inly increases it’s health from 11 to 13 while having all the rest stats and abilities same. The increased health will help it to stay alive for longer and because of the void ability, the magic attacks will destroy its fat armour before reaching for the health, so it’s a good choice against all melee, range and magic type attacks.

Gold

At level 3, this monster gets the same 3 melee attack and 2 magic attack at 3 speed with 6 armour and 14 health and also gets another new ability - heal. Because of the Heal ability, it certainly becomes more defensive as it can heal itself every round from the wounds it get from enemy attacks.

Diamond / Champ

At max level, this monster possesses 3 melee and 3 magic attack at 3 speed with 6 armour and 14 health while having all the 4 abilities that I mentioned above. The increased magic attack will help it to kill down enemy cards faster without a doubt.

My remark:

I liked this monster mainly because if 2 things - first, it’s huge armour + health combo along with Void and heal, all of which will work together very well to keep it stand strong for a much longer time. While with the help of Taunt ability, this monster will attract all the enemy attacks upon it and save your other monsters by taking the hits upon itself. But, because of it’s high mana cost, it will be risky to use it in small and medium mana ruleset matches.

COEURL LURKER

The third but the top of this list is no doubt secured by the mighty Coeurl Lurker monster which I think is the most popular Rift monster right now among us splinter players. It belongs to the Neutral edition and needs a huge 11 mana to join any battle. It’s attack type is melee and with decent speed and evading abilities - thus monster is a pro in evading all types of enemy attacks. This is also my favourite card till now in Rift set and I have also used it in diamond battlefield by renting a max level from the market. Let us now take quick look into it’s stats and abilities tier wise at below.

Bronze

At the first level, this monster gets 4 melee attack at 4 speed and with 10 health and also receives the Taunt and Evade ability in it’s initial level. Because of the Taunt, this monster will attract all enemy attacks upon itself and will save other friendly cards from getting direct hits. Because of the Evade ability, it also has more chance to evade melee and ranged attacks.

Silver

At the next level, this card possesses 4 melee attack at 4 speed with an increased 11 health and also receives another ability - Phase. Because of this new Phase ability, this monster now may evade magic attacks with the same calculation when it evades melee and ranged attacks.

Gold

This card gets an increased 5 melee attack at 4 speed with an increased 12 health along with all those 3 abilities that I mentioned above when you upgrade it to Gold tier. Having a giant 5 melee attack at Gold tier, it will no doubt become both a good attacker and a good defender as well.

Diamond / Champ

At the 4th level, this card possesses 5 melee attack at 4 speed with 13 health and also gets another new ability - Thorns. Now because of thorns, this card will attract melee monsters with the Taunt ability and also will damage them with Thorns when getting hits. On the other hand, it will also have a good chance to evade magic attack with Phase ability.

My Remarks:

It is quite clear that thou this Coeurl joined the battlefield only some weeks ago, but it already has made its place among the too monsters as it’s becoming a strong choice in high mana limit matches. With it’s ability combo, not only it can evade melee and ranged attacks but also magic attacks. On the other hand, it Taunts all enemy attacks upon it and also punish melee attackers with Thorns while keeping your other friendly attackers safe. So, this monster is an real asset and a must have in your collection.
