Dangers of the Blind Forest

Heyyy happy friday my dearest readers, and happy beginning of the weekend, this was a particularly long week for me since I was busy with work and I also dedicated some free time to finish some ideas and sketches before I lost my inspiration hahahahahahaha; but today I'm here to share with you one of those works which I finished last night, it's about a character of an Evil Elf that I decided to name as (Maitland Sue), this elf lives in a dark and gloomy forest known as the (Blind Forest), called like that because of the huge and dense Mist that covers every inch of the forest. In the past (Maitland Sue), used to be a creature that only dedicated to make mischief to all outsiders who dared to enter the Blind Forest, but little by little his jokes were escalating to the level of hurting and stealing to all here who stepped on their territory, taking advantage of the dense fog of the forest is hidden and once the forestaros are totally disoriented proceeds to attack them by surprise; I hope you like my drawing and without further ado I leave you with the painting process:

Heyyy feliz viernes mis queridísimos lectores, y feliz inicio de fin de semana, esta fue una semana particularmente larga para mi ya que estuve copado de trabajo y también dedique algo de tiempo libre para culminar algunas ideas y bocetos antes de que se me fuera la inspiración jajajajaja; pero bueno hoy esto por auqui para compartirles una de esa obras la cual termine anoche, se trata de un personaje de una Elfa Malvada a la que decidí nombrar como (Maitland Sue), esta elfa habita en un oscuro y tenebroso bosque conocido como el (Bosque Ciego), llamado así por la enorme y densa Neblina que cubre cada centímetro del bosque. En el pasado (Maitland Sue), solía ser una criatura que solo de dedicaba a hacer travesuras a todos los forasteros que se atrevían a entrar en el Bosque Ciego, pero poco a poco sus bromas fueron escalando al nivel de herir y robar a todo aquí que pisara su territorio, aprovechando la densa neblina del bosque se oculta y una vez los forestaros están totalmente desorientados procede a atacarlos por sorpresa; espero les guste mi dibujo y sin más los dejo con el proceso de pintado:

To start my idea I made what would be the primary sketch of (Maitland Sue), my idea is that she would be an Elf with a very thin and fine appearance, with long and pointed ears, and of course with an evil and mocking expression on her face which reflects a bit of her personality; With the sketch ready I could move on to the choice of colors which would give life to my character, my idea was to find a good palette of somewhat subdued colors along with a couple of more saturated tones, and among those tones I chose orange, scarlet red, and light brown. To achieve a very soft skin I decided to use the airbrush a lot to create the details of volume on the cheekbones, arms and others, then I painted the shadows in areas with little light as the union between the arms and the bust and also on the neck; with the same airbrush I gave a small touch of reddish blush on the cheeks and nose, and for the eyes I wanted to use a little more highlighting and different tone, that's why I decided to paint them with a mixture of violet and pink very clear and bright.

Para dar inicio a mi idea realice lo que seria el boceto primario de (Maitland Sue), mi idea es que fuese una Elfa con apariencia muy delgada y fina, con largas y puntiagudas orejas, y por supuesto con una expresión malvada y burlona en su rostro la cual refleja un poco de su personalidad; ya con el boceto listo pude pasarme a la elección de colores los cuales darían vida a mi personaje, mi idea era encontrar una buena paleta de colores un tanto tenues junto con un par de tonos más saturados, y entre esos tonos elegí el naranja, rojo escarlata, y marrón claro. Para lograr una piel muy suave decidí usar mucho el pincel aerógrafo para ir crenado los detalles de volumen en los pómulos, brazos y demás, luego las sombras las pinte en zonas con poca luz como la unión entre el brazos y el busto y también en el cuello; con el mismo aerógrafo fui dando un pequeño toques de rubor rojizo en las mejillas y la nariz, y para el pintado de los ojos quise usar un tono un poco mas resaltante y diferente, es por ello que me anime a pintarlos con una mezcla de violeta y rosa muy claros y brillantes.

For the hair I had the idea of creating it with a platinum color, first I tried with light gray tones to try to create a more or less white hair, but then I didn't like it very much, so I went to a little more yellowish tones, with the watercolor I created the basic shape of the hair strands and then with the brown tones I gave volume and shape to the locks with soft and random brushstrokes to the sides; I painted the eyebrows a little bit similar to the hair, I used fine brushes to create that realism of beauty on beauty, and as a final touch I gave a little shine in the high area of the head with a light yellow color using the layer effect (Shine). In the painting of the clothes I decided to create a kind of blouses of rough and shiny fabric very similar to latex, I worked with a base of scarlet red and little by little I painted with watercolor strokes and the most important areas such as the neck, bust and the area of the collarbones, finally with a fine brush and white color I made some lines in the areas closer to the light to better represent the brightness of clothes; then in the arms I decided to complement a little the appearance of (Maitland Sue) with a straps so that it looked a little rougher, the idea was that these straps simulate a little to the leather material, that's why I varied a lot the brown and orange tones.

Para el cabello tuve la idea de crearlo con un color platinado, primero probé con tonos grises claros para tratar de crear un cabello mas o menos blanco, pero luego no me gusto mucho, así que me pase mejor a unos tonos un poco mas amarillentos, con el acuarela cree la forma básica de las hebras de cabello y luego con los tonos marrones fui dando volumen y forma a los mechones con pinceladas suaves y aleatorias hacia los lados; el pintado de las cejas lo realice un poco similar al cabello, use pinceles finos para crear ese realismo de bello sobre bello, y como toque final di un poco de brillo en la zona alta de la cabeza con un color amarillo claro usando el efecto de capa (Shine). En el pintado de la ropa me decidí por crear una especie de blusas de tela rugosa y brillante muy similar al latex, trabaje con una base de rojo escarlata y poco a poco plasme trazos con acuarela y las zonas mas importantes como el cuello, busto y la zona de las clavículas, finalmente con un pincel fino y el color blanco hice algunas líneas en las zonas mas cercanas a la luz para representar mejor el brillo de ropa; luego en los brazos decidí complementar un poco la apariencia de (Maitland Sue) con una correas de modo que se viese un poco más ruda, la idea era que estas correas simularan un poco al material del cuero, por eso varié mucho los tonos Marrones y naranjas.

Finally I had to paint and shape the main stage of my work that would be the Blind Forest, my idea is that the forest would look very very gloomy, a place to think twice before entering, and so I used a fairly dark and intense color palette, I used dark brown for the floor, with the help of my grass brush and watercolor I was mixing well the shades with a little red to achieve a soil as irregular earth of mud; later for the background I used tones like yellow mixed with orange and a bit of green, the idea here was basically to give a bit of depth to the scenery to give an idea that (Maitland Sue) is right in the middle of the forest. As it would be a forest of course the trees could not be missing, but it turns out that the trees here are not covered by leaves, so I painted only the trunks from the back making some of them a little thinner, just behind (Maitland Sue), I decided to paint a big tree which she uses to hide you; finally I complemented a little the back part of the background with some dim lights and of course I painted both behind and in front of the canvas the dense layer of fog which makes it almost impossible to see inside the forest.

Por ultimo me faltaba pintar y darle forma el escenario principal de mi obra que seria el Bosque ciego, mi idea es que el bosque se viese muy muy tétrico, un lugar al cual pensárselo 2 veces antes de entras, y por eso use una paleta de colores bastante oscura e intensa, use marrón oscuro para el suelo, con ayuda de mi pincel de césped y el acuarela fui mezclando bien las tonalidades con un poco de rojo para lograr un suelo como de tierra irregular de barro; posteriormente para el fondo use tonos como el amarillo mezclado con el naranja y un poco de verde, la idea aquí básicamente era dar un poco de profundidad al escenario para dar un idea que (Maitland Sue) esa justo en el centro del bosque. Como se trataría de un bosque por supuesto no podían faltar los árboles, pero resulta que los árboles aquí no están cubierto por hojas, así que pinte solamente los troncos desde la parte de atrás haciendo un poco más delgados algunos, justo detrás de (Maitland Sue), decidí pintar un gran árbol el cual utiliza para ocultarte; finalmente complemente un poco las parte de más atrás del fondo con algunas luces tenues y por supuesto pinte tanto atrás como al frente del lienzo la densa capa de neblina la cual hace casi imposible la visión dentro del bosque.
