Heeyy happy Thursday my dear people of the artistic community, my name is Manuel and I hope you are feeling great today, this time I wanted to do something a little different to my usual works of the last days and I proposed to create a new character for my universe of characters, something like a kind of very beautiful alien princess which was sitting at a table in a kind of royal meeting while her father gives a speech; the truth as I said before I wanted to vary a little and draw something a little more fresh and portrait style which I think is the one that is easier for me, and also try a couple of pink tones for skin which I had been wanting to use for a long time. Well without anything else to add, I leave you with the process of creating the princess and I hope you love it:
Heeyy feliz jueves mi querida gente de la comunidad artística, mi nombre es Manuel y espero que se encuentren super bien el día de hoy, en esta oportunidad quise hacer algo un poco diferente a mis habituales obras de los últimos días y me propuse crear un personaje nuevo para mi universo de personajes, algo así como una especie de princesa alienígena muy hermosa la cual estuviese sentada en una mesa en una especie de reunión real mientras su padre da un discurso; la verdad como les dije antes quería variar un poco y dibujar algo un poco mas fresco y a estilo retrato que creo es el que mas se me facilita, y además probar un par de tonalidades rosada para piel las cuales tenia tiempo queriendo emplear. Bueno sin nada mas que añadir, los dejo con el proceso de creación de la princesa y espero les encante mucho:
As I mentioned before the portrait style works are one of my favorites because in my opinion I can focus more on the smallest details such as skin, eyes, mouth and so on, and not so much in macro form in the larger scale works with lots of accessories and the like, and well I created the sketch of the princess which I decided to call by the name of (Charity) sitting in front of the royal meeting room with a fairly young appearance about 15 or 16 years old, with long and pointed ears and a rather tender and pure look; the choice of colors was quite easy as I had been wanting to try a couple of shades for a while and this seemed like a great moment, I chose a light fuchsia, a red with a tendency to orange and a faint brown. The work on the skin was done in layers, in the first layer I created a little of the basic volume of the skin with the watercolor brush, and then in a top layer I created the more solid details like the eyelids, ears, nose and others; later with all the layers ready I proceeded to join them all in one and at once I began to create the details light and shadows on the neck, under the eyebrows, nose and others.
Como mencione antes las obras a estilo retrato son de mis preferidas ya que a mi parecer puedo centrarme más en los detalles mínimos como la piel, ojos, boca y demás, y no tanto en forma macro en las obras a mayor escala con mucho accesorios y cosas por el estilo, y bueno cree el boceto de la princesa a la cual decidí llamar por el nombre de (Charity) sentada frente a la sala de reuniones real con una apariencia bastante joven como de unos 15 o 16 años de edad, con largas y puntiagudas orejas y una mirada bastante tierna y pura; la elección de colores fue bastante fácil ya que tenía tiempo queriendo probar una par de tonalidades y este me pareció un momento genial, elegí un fucsia claro, un rojo con tendencia al naranja y un marrón tenue. El trabajo de la piel lo realice por capas, en la primera capa plasme un poco las bases del volumen básico de la piel con el pincel de acuarela, y luego en una capa superior cree los detalles mas solidos como los parpados, orejas, nariz y demás; posteriormente con todas las capas listas procedí a unirlas todas en una sola y de una vez empecé a crear los detalles luz y sombras en el cuello, bajo las cejas, nariz y demás.
When I got the face to look like that angelic look I was looking for the next thing I did was to add a little blush on the cheeks and nose of (Charity) with the intention of achieving a warmer effect, then I took a gray and a pink tone and started to work on the base of the eyes and lips, with the eyes I also used a range of 3 blue tones to give good shape to the inner iris and the pupil of the inner part; then for the lips I worked in 2 different layers since here my intention was more to get a little more voluminous texture, especially on the lower lip, at the end of this section I complemented both the eyes and lips with separate layers of light and shadow on the edges.
Cuando logre que el rostro se viese tal cual con esa apariencia angelical que yo buscaba lo siguiente que hice fue agregar un poco de rubor en las mejillas y la nariz de (Charity) con intención de lograr un efecto mas cálido, luego tome un tono gris y otro rosado y comencé a trabajar ya en la base de los ojos y los labios, con los ojos también use una gama de 3 tonos azules para darle buena forma al iris internos y la pupila de la parte interna; luego para los labios trabaje en 2 capas diferentes ya que aquí mi intención era más de conseguir una textura un poco más voluminosa, sobre todo en el labio inferior, al final de este apartado complemente tanto los ojos como los labios con capas apartes de luz y sombra en los bordes.
In the 3rd step I shape the character's hair, here I don't like to get too complicated since the hair should be something colorful, but rather with more shine, so what I did was to take my watercolor brush and paint the hair in a way that it looked long and straight, letting it fall a little on his shoulders; after I had the hair strands highlighted the other thing I did was to use a split end brush and set it to a medium opacity, with this I textured the hair strands a little bit in a slightly wavy way both inwards and outwards, also I created loose strands to the sides to give a little more volume and life to the hair.
En el 3er paso de forma ya al cabello del personaje, aquí no me gusta complicarme mucho ya que el pelo debe ser algo son tanto colorido, sino mas bien con mas brillo, entonces lo que hice fue tomar mi pincel de acuarela y pintar el cabello de una forma que se viera largo y liso, dejando caer un poco sobre sus hombros; luego de tener el relieve de los mechones de pelo lo otro que hice fue usar un pincel de puntas abiertas y lo ajuste a una opacidad media, con esto texturice un poco las hebras de cabello de forma levemente ondulada tanto hacia adentro como hacia afuera, adema y cree mechones sueltos hacia los lados que dieran un poco más de volumen y vida al pelo.
For the painting of the clothing I proposed to create a kind of full body suit and high neck, very Asian style as I have always liked this type of clothing, I created the suit of a scarlet red color and gave it a fairly stiff and thick texture with black details at the junction of the garment to the neck; in addition to the clothes I also wanted to add some other detail and what I came up with was to paint a pair of golden earrings in his ears. Finally I focused on creating the scenery of a real living room inside a castle or something like that, I painted some windows in the background, and also textured a little the walls and floor with a rough brush; the painting of the chair in which she is sitting (Charity) I created it with an appearance as if it was made of wood mixing some reddish tones with browns and a little bit of white.
Para el pintado de la vestimenta me propuse crear una especie de traje de cuerpo entero y cuello alto, muy a estilo asiático ya que siempre me ha gustado mucho este tipo de ropa, cree el traje de un color rojo escarlata y le di una textura bastante rígida y gruesa con detalles en color negro en la unión de la prenda hasta el cuello; adicional a la ropa también quise agregar algún otro detalle y lo que se me ocurrió fue pintar un par de aretes dorados en sus orejas. Ya por último me enfoque en crear el escenario de una sala o salón real dentro de un castillo o algo así, pinte algunas ventanas en el fondo, y adema texturice un poco las paredes y piso con un pincel rugoso; el pintado de la silla en la cual se encuentra sentada (Charity) la cree con una apariencia como si estuviese hecha de madera mezclando algunos tonos rojizos con marrones y un poco de blanco.
