Izzi, A Faraway Homecoming

Hello my dear community, happy Friday and I hope you had an excellent and productive week, today I come with a drawing with a thematic (Space); it is a character that I decided to call Izzi, A Distant Homecoming. Izzi is a young girl who was separated from her family because of an attack perpetrated on her home planet many years ago; Izzi managed to survive with the help of a kind old woman who fed and cared for her until the moment of her death, and now Izzi struggles tirelessly to return home and reunite with her parents who are also still looking for her:

Hola mi querida comunidad, feliz viernes y espero que hayan tenido una excelente y productiva semana, hoy les vengo con una dibujo con temática (Espacial); se trata de un personaje al que decidí llamar Izzi, Un Lejano Regreso a Casa. Izzi es una joven chica la cual fue apartada de su familia a causa de un ataque perpetrado en su planeta natal hace muchos años atrás; Izzi logro sobrevivir con ayuda de una gentil anciana la cual alimento y cuido hasta el momento de su muerte, y ahora Izzi lucha incansablemente por poder regresar a su hogar y reencontrarse con sus padres que también la siguen buscando:

For this drawing I decided to create the sketch in portrait style, since I wanted to add details and very specific characteristics to the face above all; I made the sketch of Izzi as if she were a young teenager of about 15 or 16 years old. I drew an expression of tenderness and naivety in her face as it would be a very young character, and when applying color I went for usual tones along with not so common tones; for the skin for example I used peach tones; for the hair a dark purple with a slight tendency to red; and for the lips contrast with a more saturated orange.

Para este dibujo me decidí por crear el boceto a estilo retrato, ya que quería añadir detalles y características muy especificas al rostro sobre todo; hizo el boceto de Izzi como si se tratara de una joven adolescente de unos 15 o 16 años de edad. Dibuje una expresión de mucha ternura e ingenuidad en su rostro pues se trataría de un personaje muy joven, y a la hora de aplicar colore me fui por tonos habituales junto con tonos no tan comunes; para la piel por ejemplo use tonos duraznos; para el pelo un purpura oscuro con tendencia leve al rojo; y para los labios contraste con un naranja más saturado.

The volumizing of the skin is a process in which special attention must be paid, especially when it comes to a young character as is the case of Izzi; being a teenager I first firmly captured the strokes of the volume, and then with a brush I was blurring and blending with some force these strokes for a more youthful texture. Then I continued with the details of the face, this part is very important because the details of the face like the eyes and lips are the ones that finally give the personality and essence to any character; in this case I decided to color the eyes in light blue and the lips I darkened them a little more and gave them much more texture.

El voluminado de la piel es un proceso en el cual se debe poner especial atención, sobre todo cuando se trata de un personaje joven como es el caso de Izzi; al tratarse de una adolescente primero plasme firmemente los trazos del volumen, y luego con un pincel fui difuminando y mezclando con cierta fuerza dichos trazos para una textura mas juvenil. Luego continúe con los detalles del rostro, esta parte es importantísima pues los detalles del rostro como los ojos y labios con los que finalmente le dan a cualquier personaje la personalidad y la esencia; en este caso los ojos los decidí colorear de azul celeste y los labios los oscurecí un poco más y les di mucha más textura.

The main idea for this character was that her hair should complement her eyes, that's why I had first used a blue in her hair, but then I thought about it better and went for the darker violet-purple tones; I created basic relief in the hair with a bristle brush towards the outside. I finished Izzi's hairstyle very well and then I could concentrate better on the details of the clothing; for the clothes I decided to create a kind of dress with intertwined lines or strings, and I also painted a kind of band or bandana on the forehead to give a more spatial touch to the character.

La idea principal para este personaje era la de que su cabello se complementara mucho con los ojos, por eso primero había usado un azul en el pelo, pero después lo pensé mejor y me fui por los tonos violeta-morados mas oscuros; fui creando relieve básico en el pelo con un pincel de cerdas hacia afuera. Fui finalizando muy bien el peinado de Izzi y para después concentrarme mejor es los detalles de la vestimenta; para la ropa decidí crear una especie de vestido de líneas o cuerdas entrelazadas, además me anime a pintar una especie de banda o bandana en la frente para darle un toque un poco mas espacial al personaje.

In the center of the forehead bandana I decided to paint a kind of crystal, for this I used many marine blue tones and my main idea was that this crystal or gem had a very similar appearance to the diamond; I also added a small reddish texture to the bandana that I thought would look cooler. Finally, the only thing I needed was to complete the background of my drawing, and for this I decided to paint a kind of open and stormy scenery; with a kind of pink moon or star orbiting over the planet where Izzi is.

En el centro de la bandana de la frente decidí pintar una especie de cristal, para ello use muchos tonos azules marinos y mi idea principal era que este cristal o gema tuviera una apariencia muy similar al diamante; también agregue una pequeña textura rojiza a la bandana que me parecía se vería mas cool. Finalmente, lo único que me faltaba era completar el fondo de mi dibujo, y para esto me decidí a pintar una especie de escenario abierto y tormentoso; con una especie de luna o estrella rosada orbitando sobre el planeta donde se encuentra Izzi.
