Splinterlands Fan Art | Avina of the Wolf, Unbroken Spirit 🐺

Good afternoon, my dearest readers of #Hive! I hope you are all having an excellent day. This is your friend Manuel greeting you, very excited to bring a new digital illustration to share with all of you on my blog. This time, I drew inspiration from the incredible universe of #Splinterlands, specifically from the Avina of the Wolf card. This character has always caught my attention due to her imposing design, which blends the elegance of a warrior with the ferocity of nature. I wanted to recreate her under my own approach, highlighting her determined gaze and the details of her gear.

Por aquí los saluda su amigo Manuel, muy emocionado de traerles una nueva ilustración digital para compartir con todos ustedes en mi blog. En esta oportunidad, me inspiré en el increíble universo de #Splinterlands, específicamente en la carta de Avina of the Wolf, un personaje que siempre me ha llamado la atención por su diseño imponente que mezcla la elegancia de una guerrera con la ferocidad de la naturaleza. Quise recrearla bajo mi propio enfoque, resaltando su mirada decidida y los detalles de su equipamiento:

PROCESS / PROCESO

For the development of this piece, I started by structuring a firm and defiant pose, drawing her holding her large double-edged sword resting on her shoulder. When it came to coloring, I spent a lot of time working on the metallic armor; I used a grayish base with transitions of white highlights and deep shadows to give it a polished and realistic finish, adding rivets and small golden accents on the edges of the shoulder pads and bracers to break up the monotony of the metal.

Para el desarrollo de esta pieza, comencé estructurando una pose firme y desafiante, dibujándola sosteniendo su gran espada de doble filo apoyada sobre el hombro. Al momento de aplicar el color, dediqué mucho tiempo a trabajar la armadura metálica; utilicé una base grisácea con transiciones de luces blancas y sombras profundas para darle un acabado pulido y realista, añadiendo remaches y pequeños acentos dorados en los bordes de las hombreras y los brazaletes para romper la monotonía del metal.

The warrior's face was another crucial section. I wanted her expression to convey leadership, so I defined her features with warm tones and a subtle blush, making her intense blue eyes and blonde hair stand out as it falls naturally around her face. On her torso, I added the characteristic blue-gray wolf pelt over her shoulders, taking care of the texture of the strands and applying a golden brooch with a shiny blue gem in the center, which unifies the entire color palette along with the waist sash.

El rostro de la guerrera fue otra sección crucial. Quise que su expresión transmitiera liderazgo, por lo que definí sus facciones con tonos cálidos y un sutil sonrojo, haciendo resaltar sus intensos ojos azules y su cabello rubio, el cual cae de forma natural alrededor de su cara. En el torso, agregué el característico pelaje de lobo gris azulado sobre sus hombros, cuidando la textura de los mechones y aplicando un broche dorado con una gema azul brillante en el centro que unifica toda la paleta de colores junto al fajín de la cintura.

Finally, for the background, I decided to maintain a dark and rocky atmosphere, simulating the interior of a cave or a fortress in shadows. I used textured brushstrokes in dark brown and reddish tones; this way, the setting doesn't compete with the main character, but instead helps the silver shine of the armor and the contrast of the blue color stand out with much more strength and prominence in the final result.

Finalmente, para el fondo decidí mantener una atmósfera oscura y rocosa, simulando el interior de una cueva o una fortaleza en penumbras. Utilicé pinceladas texturizadas en tonos marrones y rojizos oscuros; de esta manera, la ambientación no compite con el personaje principal, sino que ayuda a que el brillo plateado de la armadura y el contraste del color azul resalten con muchísima más fuerza y protagonismo en el resultado final.
