Many artists claim that black and white photography gives a timeless character to the people or objects present in the image, that it has the virtue of erasing the timeline and freezing a brief moment of reality for preservation.

On the other hand, it adds a drama that color photos rarely achieve, increasing their strength and strength, which is why, even today, many continue to experiment with this genre.

In the vicinity of the city of Barquisimeto, there is a picturesque and tiny village whose main attraction is a Catholic temple located in its center, known as Basilica of Santa Rosa, also called Sanctuary of Santa Rosa de Lima, and which is the starting point of a centennial and multitudinous procession that takes place every January 14 since 1856, except for the years 2021 and 2022, which had to be suspended as a result of health measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Muchos artistas afirman que la fotografía en blanco y negro le otorga un carácter atemporal a las personas u objetos presentes en la imagen, que esta tiene la virtud de borrar la línea de tiempo y congelar un breve instante de la realidad para su preservación.

Por otra parte, le agrega un dramatismo que las fotos a color rara vez logran, incrementando su reciedumbre y fuerza, razón por la cual, aún hoy en día, muchos continúan experimentando con este género.

En las cercanías de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, existe un pintoresco y diminuto poblado que tiene como su mayor atractivo, un templo católico situado en su centro, conocido como Basílica de Santa Rosa, también llamado Santuario de Santa Rosa de Lima, y el cual es el punto de partida de una centenaria y multitudinaria procesión que tiene lugar cada 14 de Enero desde 1856, con excepción de los años 2021 y 2022, que tuvo que ser suspendida como consecuencia de las medidas sanitarias para evitar la propagación del Covid-19.
